With a new school year come new happenings and faces. MacGregor is the fortunate recipient of two excellent arts projects. Two acclaimed native Houstonian artists are collaborating with our school and working with our students. Lauren Anderson, Houston Ballet Outreach Associate is working with students after school with Music and Movement. The students will culminate their participation in this program with a school performance. The Rauschenberg Project is another blessing bestowed upon us! The R------ what, you might ask? Jason Moran, the expert jazz artist at the Kennedy Center, has chosen to come back to his elementary school and render his expertise to our music students. He will visit our campus and work with our rising artists 3-4 times a year. He made his first appearance and jam session earlier in September. Students received his expert instruction and enjoyed listening to him playing the piano and storytelling. The students will also have the opportunity to work with local musicians and visual artists.669005199380topIn the CommunitySchool Choice Open House November 1, 2014 Northwest Mall 9500 Hempstead Hwy 10:00 am – 1:00 pmParents and students come visit school booths and get information about magnet schools.Online Application Centers open in each region of the cityParent Magnet Awareness Week November 3-7, 2014School Tours for parents daily at 1:00 pmVoting Day November 4, 2014 Make sure you make your voice heard by casting your vote.NO SCHOOL TOUR due to voting day 286000In the CommunitySchool Choice Open House November 1, 2014 Northwest Mall 9500 Hempstead Hwy 10:00 am – 1:00 pmParents and students come visit school booths and get information about magnet schools.Online Application Centers open in each region of the cityParent Magnet Awareness Week November 3-7, 2014School Tours for parents daily at 1:00 pmVoting Day November 4, 2014 Make sure you make your voice heard by casting your vote.NO SCHOOL TOUR due to voting day Meet Our New FacesThis year MacGregor added four new teachers, each unique with different levels of experience.left4635500Ms. Emily Paul is our new Recipe for Success chef and gardening teacher.
