ARKANSAS SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLANNING (ASIP) SOFTWARE UPDATES FOR VERSION 2.2

INDIVIDUAL SCHOOL SITE

1. On or after October 1, 2002, schools need to access the Cimarron website: asip:

• Download Version 2.2 of the school improvement software. This will be an autoexec file.

• Once the autoexec file is downloaded schools need to install the school improvement software.

2. To open the school improvement plan, double-click on the ASIP icon.

• Use the browse button to find the plan to be opened.

• Highlight the plan and click ok.

3. Now that the plan has been opened in the new software, schools must modify the title page.

• Select the correct Title I funding designation.

• Indicate the appropriate school improvement status.

4. Functionality changes in the new school improvement software:

• The Replace button in the lower toolbar will access a window that provides the opportunity to replace an existing name with a new name in the person responsible column and in the appendix (committee members). This button will also allow the user to replace action types, source of funds or resources throughout the document.

• Additional sources of funds have been added to the Source of Funds menu to include: Title IIA, Title IID, Title III, Title IVA, Title IVB and Title V.

• Title V “None” and Title I “None” have been added to the Source of Funds menu to capture actions that have no direct funding but need to be included in the Program Application.

• The date on the top right corner is only updated when the plan is saved.

• Sub-plans created in the new software, once merged, can now be modified. Sub-plans created prior to Version 2.2 should be converted to Version 2.2 before creating a new merged document.

CENTRAL OFFICE SITE

5. On or after October 1, 2002, the central office needs to access the Cimarron website: asip:

• Download Version 2.2 of the school improvement software. This will be an autoexec file.

• Once the autoexec file is downloaded the central office needs to install the

school improvement software and the district report generator. The desktop will now show the four following icons:

a. The school improvement planner

b. The district report generator

c. Federal budget pages

d. ASIP FTP

6. Functionality changes in the district report generator include:

• Adding the committee list to each program application

• Allowing the user the option of creating a program application document without including priorities, supporting data, goals, benchmark statements, and committee lists

• Modifying the district name through the ASIP drop-down menu at the top of the screen

• Changing the Source of Funds button on the toolbar to program application
