HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response

HOPE AACR Public Facebook page

We are always looking for Facebook content! Please help us out by submitting photos of HOPE teams at events and callouts or news articles about the work our teams are doing to be included on the public Facebook page.

• First question to ask ourselves when submitting a picture/article: Does it support our mission?

• We want to represent each region equally and not over-emphasize a particular region or dog, so we need everyone’s help!

• Submissions should be made to your Regional Director who will then approve and forward to the Facebook moderators.

Photo Requirements:

• YOU MUST HAVE A PHOTO RELEASE FOR EVERY RECOGNIZABLE NON-HOPE MEMBER FACE IN YOUR PICTURE. Be aware of the people in the background- we may can use our photo-cropping magic, however not all pictures can be edited.

• Photo must be accompanied by a detailed description of what is happening in the picture. Try to answer the “Five W’s” – who, what, when, where, why. Include title of the callout.

• Only submit pictures where the team is following all of the policies and procedures of HOPE AACR – i.e. - your hand on the leash of your dog (not a leash laying on the floor), dress code followed etc.

HOPE AACR Private Facebook Group

The HOPE Annual meeting page that was set up for the meeting in Charleston, SC is being converted to a year round venue for member discussion and information sharing. It is now called “HOPE AACR Facebook Discussion Group”

• ONLY HOPE members will be added to this group- no spouses, children, parents, etc. Members must provide first and last name, HOPE canine’s name (or Team Leader), region and state when requesting addition to the group.

• The group will be a place to meet, interact, and share ideas with other HOPE members from across the country. Posts can include relevant articles, funny memes, uplifting stories, proud (dog) parent moments/brags, lessons learned etc.

o Remember what gets posted on one FB page doesn’t necessarily stay just on that page so be thoughtful about what you share.

o Please do not share callout/event photos from the FB “group”. Those approved to be shared will be on the main page (see above).

• Photo requirements are the same as for the public page.

o MUST HAVE A PHOTO RELEASE FOR EVERY RECOGNIZABLE NON-HOPE MEMBER FACE IN YOUR PICTURE. Again, be aware of the people in the background- use your photo-cropping magic!

o If posting HOPE callout/event pictures make sure the team is following all of the policies and procedures of HOPE AACR – i.e. - your hand on the leash of your dog (not a leash laying on the floor), dress code followed etc.

• Just like a real community, you may have different opinions than other users. Policies of the Yahoo discussion group will apply to this one as well. If these guidelines are not followed, the moderator of the Facebook group will give feedback or warnings to the member, or may suspend Facebook group privileges. .

• Questions or concerns about violations of the Facebook group guidelines should be sent to Janet Velenovsky (Janet@) and Amy Greenway (greenwayamyd@).

Twitter - @HopeAACR

We are also now tweeting! Please follow HOPE on twitter… tweet us, retweet etc.

• Remember what gets posted on Twitter goes out to the world. Be thoughtful about what you share and tag HOPE in.

• Photo requirements are the same as for the public page.
