End of Year Information The last day of regular student attendance for Vestal High School is June 17, 2019. Some students will return for testing.

Student Locker Clean Out On June 21, at 8 AM, the custodians will dispose of all locker contents. If your child will be absent from school on June 11 - 17, please contact your child's school counselor so arrangements can be made for the locker contents to be secured. If we do not hear from a student or parent, we will assume that you want the school to dispose of all locker contents.

Regents and Final Exam Testing Information New York State Regents exams will be given Tuesday, June 18, 2019, through Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Specific students have been identified to take these exams, including students who previously failed Regents exams and need the exam to meet graduation requirements. There are no classes scheduled at Vestal High School for students beginning on Tuesday, June18, 2019. School lunches will not be served after the last day of classes on June 17.

Normal bus transportation routes will remain the same during the entire testing week. Additionally, there will be buses available to transport students home at 11:45 AM and 4:00 PM after their exams Tuesday, June 18, through Tuesday, June 25.

All BOCES sites and programs will distribute information to students regarding testing and last day of classes.

Please review the chart on the reverse side for the date, time and location of the exam(s). If your child has testing accommodations, he/she may be testing in a separate location. Your child will receive this information from the resource room teacher. Student attendance at Regents Exams is required. The Regents exams are weighted 20% of the student's final course average. A grade of zero (0) is weighted 20% of the student's final course average if the student does not report to the exam.

Security Guidelines The New York State Education department has issued guidelines for school security for the administration of Regents examinations. Based on these guidelines, the following procedures will take place during the examination period.

1. Only those students required to take an assessment will be allowed in the testing areas. 2. Students may bring only lunch/snacks, medical supplies (such as inhalers), and specific materials

appropriate to the exam (such as pens, pencils and calculators) to the testing area. Book bags and other personal belongings, cell phones and all electronic devices (SMART Watches, iPods, tablets, etc.) will not be permitted at the student seats during exams.

NOTE: Cell phones and all electronic devices will be collected from students by VHS staff members before exams begin, and devices will be secured until the exam is complete. Students can pick up cell phones after each exam from the security table or the Assistant Principals' Office. Please note, however, that the school is not responsible for the security of these prohibited items. Per New York State regulations, if a student is found in possession of a prohibited electronic device in the testing areas, the student's test must be invalidated.
