MICHAEL MOORE’S APARTMENTS FOR RENTAL

PUERTO SANTA MARIA, SPAIN

Michael Moore and his wife Antonia are the owners of the apartment complex in El Puerto de Santa María. Michael is from San Diego, CA and retired from the U. S. Navy. His wife Antonia is from Jerez de la Frontera, town in Spain where they met while his father was assigned to Rota NAS. They live with their son in one of the apartments in the complex. They are very nice and kind people, and serve their tenants in a very special way. Antonia speaks very good English. Michael’s father was the Base Flight Surgeon at Rota NAS. So, you can see, Michael has been around in Spain for a while.

Their apartment complex is located at Calle Calabazas 52, URB. Fuentebravia, Puerto Santa Maria, Spain 11550. It is about 5 miles from the Rota NAS Porto gate and about 50-100 yards from the beach. It’s located in a nice, safe and secured. There are about 4 apartments, ranging from 2-bedroom to 3-bedrooms. They have living room, dining room, baths, balconies with view of the Cadiz Bay and Rota, kitchen. The apartments are fully furnished with TV, microwave, refrigerator, stove, utensils, etc….the works. Adjacent to the complex you can find the bus stop and about 6 blocks you’ll find a deli & bakery. Not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but a nice, clean and quiet place to rest and spend a well-deserved vacation; and most important... “The price is right”. Perfect for couples who may want to share the expense and save a little money on lodging.

The latest news is that Michael and Antonia are the owners of another apartment in Jerez de la Frontera. It has 3 small rooms, l double bed, living room, dining room, small terrace, kitchen with pantry, and controlled parking lot. It is adjacent to a food supermarket, a church right across the street, located in a residential area with lots of shops; a roasted chicken and fried fish to-take-out place, and bread and pastry shop. The bus stop around the corner takes to the center of town.

Michael charges 50 Euros per apartment per night, regardless if it is the 2-br or 3-br and including the Jerez de la Frontera apartment. He charges a little more during the summer months. My personal comments:

I haven’t stayed at the beach apartments, but have visited them many times. During our last trip to Spain (last April/May), I rented 3 of the apartments for a group of friends who traveled with us. The group was very happy with the apartments and their stay as a whole. Why didn’t we stay there? Because my wife and I have our son Ricardo living in Puerto Real, town adjacent to Puerto de Santa Maria, and we usually stay with them when we visit. One of these days, we will stay with Michael and Antonia at the beach and also look forward to staying at their Jerez apartment in the future.

I’ve also received excellent feedback from other retired Spats who’ve stayed at the beach apartments.
