"The major powers' concessions are growing."?He said an agreement with Tehran over its nuclear program would "pave Iran's path to the production of very many atomic bombs and it will also channel to Iran hundreds of billions of dollars that will serve its aggression and terrorism campaigns in our region and around the world."?Netanyahu likened the deal to negotiations between the US and North Korea, which did not achieve Western powers' intended result of deterring the Asian state from developing nuclear arms.?"This is a bad deal," the prime minister said. "It is not less bad - in my opinion it is worse - than the deal with North Korea that led to a nuclear arsenal in North Korea. But this is both a nonconventional threat and a very large conventional threat against Israel, the countries of the region and the world."?On Saturday, the Associated Press reported that the so-called P5+1 world powers and Iran had drawn up a draft document on the pace and timing of sanctions relief, advancing on one of the most contentious issues of their negotiations. The development indicated the sides were moving closer to a comprehensive accord that would impose a decade of restrictions on Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for tens of billions of dollars in economic benefits for the Iranians, as they race to complete a deal after extending a June 30 deadline to July 7.?Israel has loudly lobbied against the emerging deal, arguing it will let Iran continue to enrich uranium for a nuclear weapons program while lifting sanctions that have crippled the country's economy. The US and much of the world fears Iran's enrichment of uranium and other activity could be designed to make nuclear weapons; Iran says its program is meant only to generate power and serve other peaceful purposes.?Officials from the US and other powers have argued that sanctions will be able to be "snapped back" into place should Iran not comply with the deal.?Saying Iran was more dangerous that the Islamic State, Israeli officials on Friday warned against the threat that would be posed if Tehran were allowed to develop a nuclear weapon, which Netanyahu has described as an existential threat. "The Iranian terror machine that operates worldwide will only be strengthened," the officials said. "We must not let Iran acquire the most dangerous weapon in the world and fill its terror coffers with hundreds of billions of dollars."?Western officials have described sanctions relief as one of the thorniest disagreements between Iran and the United States, which has led the campaign of international pressure against Iran's economy.?Written by technical experts, the sanctions document revealed Saturday still must be approved by senior officials of the seven nations at the table, including US Secretary of State John Kerry, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the foreign ministers of Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany.?Diplomats, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak publicly on this past week's confidential negotiations, said the sanctions annex was completed this week by experts from Iran and the six world powers in the negotiations. They did not provide details of the agreement.?A senior US official did not dispute the diplomats' account but said work remained to be done on "Annex II" before the issue could be described as finalized. And beyond a political agreement that was still in the draft stage, details also needed to be finalized on tough issues contained in four other appendices.?They include inspection guidelines, rules governing Iran's research and development of advanced nuclear technology and the nuts and bolts of reducing the size and output of Iran's uranium enrichment program.?As part of a deal, the Obama administration also wants Iran to fully cooperate with the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency's investigation of allegations that Tehran worked secretly on nuclear arms - something Iran vehemently denies. But chances of progress on that issue appear to be dimming.?IAEA chief Yukiya Amano told reporters on Saturday that "more work will be needed" to advance the probe, in a statement similar to previous ones from his agency, which has struggled for nearly a decade to resolve its concerns.?Top Israeli official: Nuke deal will set up Iran to take over Middle East - Mossad chief Ram Ben Barak warns of a Tehran immune to threats and gaining 'control wherever it pleases'?The prospective nuclear deal with Iran would empower it to take over the Middle East and trigger a regional nuclear arms race, a senior Israeli official warned in an interview published Friday. ?Ram Ben Barak, director general of the Strategic Affairs Ministry and a leading candidate to be the next head of Israel's Mossad spy agency, told the Makor Rishon newspaper that "the deal which is about to be signed will allow Iran to decide by itself when it will be nuclear [armed], and that is the most problematic."?He said the lifting of sanctions would give Tehran "an ocean of money," allowing it to buy influence across the Middle East and "advance to a position where no one will be able to threaten it and it will acquire control wherever it pleases."?Ben Barak noted that there is "almost no area in the Middle East today where Iran remains uninvolved: Iraq, where Iranian interests are in line with US interests, Lebanon, where Hezbollah is effectively an Iranian division, and Yemen, which was mostly conquered by Iran."?"Think what happens if in coming years Iran will receive billions of dollars. They will have no limitations," he said.?Ben Barak is one of three candidates vying for the coveted position of Mossad chief, contending with current National Security Council chair Yossi Cohen and an unnamed deputy to current Mossad chief Tamir Pardo. Pardo is slated to step down in January 2016.?Ben Barak has only been directing the Strategic Affairs Ministry since December 2014. He began working with the Mossad in 1991 and rose through the ranks before taking on his current post.?As director general of the ministry, Ben Barak defined his role as "being the eyes and ears of the prime minister."?The Iran dossier, he said, "is one of the most important things we deal with. The Iranian issue has great influence, beyond the fact that a nuclear Iran is not something, in Israel's view, which can be tolerated."?Like Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ben Barak believes that "if the Americans would insist and press more, a much better agreement could be achieved. There is no doubt a good deal is preferable to war. Everyone understands this, from the prime minister to the last citizen on the street. But a bad deal can have really serious implications."?Ben Barak said he shared the view that countries such as Egypt or Saudi Arabia were almost certain to enter a nuclear arms race to counterbalance Iran's nuclear aspirations.?"Almost certainly, this process will occur. The Saudis and Gulf states are concerned by an Iranian takeover of the region no less than we are. There are, at the end of the day, many natural resources there, and we have already seen in the past an Iraqi attempt to take over Kuwait because of its oil reserves," he said, referring to the First Gulf War.?The Iranian nuclear race, he said, is compounded by the grander Sunni-Shiite war in the Middle East. "Money is not lacking in the Gulf States, they can buy anything. As soon as they see the Iranians enter a corridor which ends with nuclear capability, they will enter this corridor too, and the entire region will be in an arms race."?All Gulf states apart from Iran have a majority of Sunni Arabs, whereas Iran is overwhelmingly Shiite and non-Arab Persian.?Ben Barak said he preferred "not to go into details" of the opportunities the geostrategic situation offers Israel in terms of alliances with moderate Sunni states. "You can see the common interest with Egypt, and I assume there are other" shared interests with other Sunni states.?Sunni states, he said, were "fighting a double fight. On the one hand there is the Shiite axis headed by Iran... and on the other side they have Sunni radicals, who see their nation-states as heretical."?Ben Barak said Iran's proxy, the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah, may lose its war in Syria against the Islamic State, one instance where the Sunni-Shiite conflict rages closer to Israel.?"There are Shiite militias there brought by the Iranians, and many Hezbollah fighters, but they do not succeed in holding back the rebels."?"The Shiites are no more concerned with radical [Sunni] Islam than with the Jews. In four or five years, there may be a new reality in southern Lebanon. In the Golan Heights it is already happening. The Syrian Army there is non-existent. Tomorrow we could have terror attacks on the [Golan Heights'] border fence," he added.?Asked whether the West and the international community could affect the Syrian civil war, Ben Barak responded negatively: "This conflict is stronger than the influence of the [world] powers. It's a Sunni-Shiite conflict, the Russians and the Americans do not function in it. They have some leverage with [Syrian President Bashar] Assad, but he is only one player among many. The Islamic State and [al-Qaeda affiliated] Nusra Front don't care about the powers-that-be."?Ben Barak also said an analysis which considers Israel to be at an advantage because its enemies are battling another is "an immature view."?"Wars end and then there is a new reality. Hezbollah without Syria will be crippled, because then it will have trouble getting Iranian assistance and this is important for us, but it's not clear that the alternative will be better. During the Iran-Iraq War they also said it's the best outcome for the Jews, and look where we are today. The war in Syria will stabilize, and then the common enemy will again be us. We need to prepare for this."?ISIS rushes reinforcements to Egypt. Its next targets: The Pyramids and Sphinx - Islamic State is rushing reinforcements to Egypt from Libya and Iraq for its battle with Egyptian forces in northern Sinai, which went into its fifth day Sunday, July 5, and other offensives, debkafile's intelligence and counter-terror sources report. After sustaining hundreds of casualties, both sides claim to have won the upper hand but the tenacious struggle is not over.?An Islamist manpower pool is provided by Egyptian extremists who crossed into Libya in the past and settled in bases around Benghazi.? Last week, ISIS summoned them to take up positions in Cairo and the Suez Canal and wait for orders to go into action. They crossed back with the help of smugglers. Those rings, dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood underground, with branches controlled by Hamas and Hezbollah, bring illicit weapons and ammunition supplies to Sinai from Libya via Egypt.??President Abdel Fatteh El-Sisi is therefore obliged to earmark substantial military and intelligence resources for defending the Suez Canal and Cairo - more even than the Sinai front.??The other source of jihadi reinforcements is Iraq, They use another branch of the smuggling network which carries them through southern Jordan to the Gulf of Aqaba where they are picked up by smugglers' boats and ferried across to the eastern coast of the Sinai Peninsula.?The IDF had more than one reason for its decision last Wednesday to close to traffic Rte 12, Israel's main southern highway, which runs parallel to the Egyptian border up to Eilat: It was a necessary precaution lest ISIS turned its terrorists and guns against Israel from next-door northern Sinai. The other reason was to deter the Islamists coming from Iraq from trying to transit Israel and reach Sinai with the help of Bedouin smugglers operating on both sides of the Israeli-Egyptian border.??Our military sources estimate that some 1,000 jihadists are directly engaged in the North Sinai battle with the Egyptian army, but add that they could quickly recruit supplementary fighting manpower from Bedouin tribes near the warfront who already play ball with the terrorists.??Egyptian tacticians have strictly limited the army action on this front to air and helicopter strikes and local ground and armored forces. They are focusing on defending three Sinai enclaves, the northern district around Sheikh Zuweid, El Arish port and Rafah, and Sharm el-Sheikh in the south, to pin ISIS forces down in those places and prevent them from fanning out into areas controlled by the big Bedouin tribes.?When President El-Sisi visited the troops in northern Sinai Saturday, July 5, he disclosed that only one percent of the Egyptian army of 300,000 men was assigned to Sinai. He indicated that his army was perfectly capable of wiping out the Sinai terrorist threat in no time if all its might were to be thrown into the fray.?This strategy leaves ISIS with free rein in central Sinai. However, El-Sisis, like his predecessor Hosni Mubarak, is not prepared to go all out against ISIS in its "dens" any time in the near future, because he needs all his military resources and assets he can muster to defend the capital Cairo and the Suez Canal.??Neither the Islamic Army nor the Muslim Brotherhood or any other radical Islamists make any secrets of their next plans. ISIS has announced that it is setting its sights on Egypt's pyramids, the Sphinx of Giza, and the country's unique historic monuments in general, after its savage vandalism and looting of other precious world heritage sites.?In a new message released Friday, July 3, a number of radical Islamist leaders, including the ISIS "caliph" Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, told their followers that the destruction of Egypt's national monuments, such as the pyramids and the sphinx, was a "religious duty" that must be carried out by those who worship Islam, as "idolatry is strictly banned in the religion."?This message has sharply ratcheted up the jihadist element of ISIS military confrontation with Egypt to a higher, more inflammatory level.??The Rapture and the Thief in the Night - Trailer??We must all face the facts and realize that all of us have friends and family members that are going to miss the rapture. It is Superb! For those that don't know much, or anything about Bible Prophecy, this DVD should really open their eyes, a great teaching tool. For those that have grown cold or indifferent in the Lord, this should awaken them." T. Particularly effective is the emotional ending showing the return of Jewish people worldwide back to Israel and traveling with a sense of destiny.? Many commentators have said Israel is God's hour hand, Jerusalem is the minute hand, and the Temple Mount is the second hand on God's timepiece.? The video is a great introduction and myth-buster for those who do not know of the importance of Israel in God's eyes or who believe Israel has as much significance in today's world as Madagascar or the Canary Islands." - John Wicklund, Chairman Olive Tree Ministries Board of Directors?Got the DVD today and just finished watching it...outstanding!!! The "There will be Tribulation" video describes the purpose and the sequence of events during the final seven years prior to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. The linkage to many Old Testament prophecies clearly show the importance of the nation of Israel to this seven-year period. The pictures in the video document a world already full of tribulation- how terrible will be those seven years. The hope and joy that once filled American patriotic dreams on the birthday of our nation has turned to great despair and dread concern. We have had many great challenges before in our nation's past but we have never experienced an inward hostile takeover of our three branches of government as we have last week. The years of leftist preparation and incrementalism have finally paid off and they have seized the power and are now implementing their socialistic secular lawless tyrannical agenda full bore. This present state of helplessness and great concern has now finally engulfed the hearts of those Americans who had once clung onto optimistic appraisals and hopes. They have now finally come to understand that the very hour in which they are now living in is indeed the end of America. Since last week, this great worry and concern is now found throughout the New Media including Rush Limbaugh and in the conservative movement in general. Optimistic appraisals of our return to our Founder's vision for America are now but a vapor and the reality of our nation's estate have finally set in frightening those who now understand and can see that the implosion (morally and fiscally) of our nation is at hand and lawlessness, tyranny and governmental slavery are at our very door.?I would liken our nation to a loved one, who has been hit by a car and is in the critical care unit of the hospital. He shows possible signs of recovery and there is great relief among his loved ones at the future prospect that he will survive and get some of his functions back. He will not be fully restored to the way he once was, but at least he will be with us and we can love him. Then... the doctor purposely prescribes the wrong medications and as a result of this doctor's diabolical deed our love one is now placed in a comma and is in a greater state of emergency than the first. He has now received brain damage do to the medication's complications of his poisoning and to continue to live he must be on life support. Our moment of temporary joy and hopeful optimism at our love one's partial recovery is now turn to great anger, despair and hopelessness. The reality that our loved one will never recover from his doctor's injustice and injury has made us angry and fully grieved, for the reality has now set in that we will never be able to interact or enjoy our loved one again, for he is indeed truly gone and we are helpless to save him. We have tried to do all that is within our power but must now come to the very sobering realization as he lies on life support that he is lost and has not much time left in this world. My friend, that is how I and others now feel about our nation's present estate. The jig is finally up and we fully know that indeed very troubling days of tyranny, lawlessness and oppression are at our very door as a nation... and the world.?The anti Constitutional secular left have finally fulfilled their secular tyrannical desire and have slain our Founding Father's vision and our Constitution in which it cannot return. The glass is broke and unrepairable. It is my personal opinion - with lawlessness abounding in all three branches of U.S. Government - that anarchy, oppression, fiscal depression and civil war is at hand and it is just a matter of time before our national implosion (fiscally and morally) finally occurs.?Our U.S. government (local/national) has been occupied and saturated with those who HATE and DESPISE all that our Founding Fathers stood for. The Laws of Nature and of Nature's God (Almighty God's moral absolutes for time) have been under the unrelenting secular jihad of those who disdain and abhor their Creator and all that represent His moral absolutes (Rom. 1:18-32, Jude 1:8,10). Our current president is the fulfillment of all these godless secularist twisted dreams and hopes. He has been absolutely hell bent on the destruction and disintegration of our nation and its Judeo/Christian heritage and has been very successful in his war against our Constitution.?Over the last 75 years the secular socialistic seed has been planted, watered and nourished. The time has now finally come in our history to reap this secular socialistic harvest and Obama has been the man to "git R done". Obama's policies, euphemisms and twisted justifications of his lawless actions have cut through the rotted America social core as a hot knife through warm butter. Fifty years of lawless indoctrination, critical theory, secularism, moral relativism and socialistic kool aid has dumbed down and made drunk this nation's citizens and has made this nation's inhabitants ripe for the pickings and dumb as a rock. ?America's clueless pleasure seeking narcissistic inhabitants (Right, Moderate and Liberal) and governmental program addicts have all been mentally and morally passed out and at the wheel for years, while America has been stealthily taken over. As the U.S. frog has been slowly cooked over 75 years so have our nation's inhabitants. Many have finally woken up since the Lefts (in 2006) and Obama's (in 2008) takeover of America, but it has been a little too late; for the damage has long been done and the lawless reaper's now have come.?This 4th of July the Left rejoices in a new "lawless revolution" that has finally taken over the Founding Father's vision of America. This 4th of July the Left celebrates a new nation born to replace our old one which was founded on the Laws of Nature and of Natures God. This 4th of July Almighty God has been finally ousted from our three branches of government and a secular agenda and government is now the new god of America. This 4th of July we look back at what once was America and understand that we are now in a new era, a new realm, a new estate ever evolving now into fascist tyrannical state of despotism and anarchy. The American Lefts fascism, which has hid behind a smiley face for years has now revealed its self to be the consuming Dragon of old (John 8:44, Eph. 6:12, Rev. 12:9). Make no mistakes my friends more is at work here then the hands of lawless man (2 Cor. 4:3-4, Eph.6:12). The Master politician has now set the stage for his soon reception and 666 global state (2 Thess. 2:3-12, Rev. 13) in which none shall escape (1 Thess. 5:1-4, Rev. 6-19). ??Our nation's ONLY hope in this dire hour is for each American to turn to Almighty God and to His saving grace. For that is what this little existence here in this fallen world is all about. Almighty God has provided a Savior for time and ETERNITY may it be that you know Him (John 3:16-17).?The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!?Hateful Lies versus Unpopular Truths - Barbara Henderson - Wins When People Call Lies the Truth? It looks like judgment day is coming for the world.? The judgment will fall on the just and the unjust.? The exception to this is going to be the rapture of the church.? Jesus Christ will call His children out of the world leaving only the unsaved. But, even then, Christians spring up and begin to preach the gospel.? So when judgment comes there are always some people who are not guilty at least in the general sense.? Take Daniel and the three Hebrew brothers.? They were apparently godly boys or young men. ?Their captivity most likely was not a direct result of their personal sins.? Nevertheless, the sins of the nation brought about a dreadful change in their lives and set them on a path during their life that was probably totally unimaginable to them and their families at one point.?As we see the horror of evil advancing in families, nations, and the world, we wonder why God doesn't send fire from heaven and put an end to the wickedness going on.? I don't know God's reasons for delaying judgment and I don't know His time frame.? But I do have a few thoughts on the matter.? First, if God took out all the unrighteous, there would be others springing up to take their place.? We are all sinners.? It is our nature.? There will come a time beginning with the Millennium? Kingdom when there are no unrighteous left.? The world will start out with two of the three evils we face daily in defeat.? The devil will be in hell for that time period.? The world government will be led by Jesus Christ during that time, so the evil of government will be removed.? That leaves only mankind and our sin nature.? Even during those ideal conditions some will reject Jesus. ?Jesus also has a plan that includes an unknown number of people.? God planned in advance for the birth of everyone who was, is, or ever will be born.? We don't know the time frame on that.? I have heard it preached that the rapture of the church will come on the day the last person who will be saved is saved.? Of course no one knows when that will happen, so there is no date setting there.?Jesus also has a plan for those who are without God to hear the way of salvation.? The children of God, Christians, are to tell the world that Jesus saves.? He doesn't swoop down and save those who have their 'heart is in the right place'.? He saves those who repent of their sins and turn from their old life to a new life in Christ.? The lost cannot hear Jesus Saves from their graves.? Neither can God's children call the lost to repentance if all God's children suddenly reside in heaven.? Since we are still here at this moment it means God is still showing mercy to the lost.? ?Right now the most dreadful thing going on is that the government and society are labeling as good what God has clearly labeled as sin.? This puts people without Christ in an even more precarious situation.? How can they repent of sin if they don't even know they are sinning?? At some level I believe they actually do know they are sinning.? But, it becomes much harder to acknowledge sin when the world around you is clearly saying your life style, your choices, even your perversions, are just fine.? This is hate on exhibit pure and simple.? People must have Jesus Christ to get into heaven.? That is the truth.? Christians are to speak the truth.? To tell the truth of Jesus Christ is to love others the way Jesus loves us.? ?The path Jesus walked was not an easy path.? The world hated him.? The world rejected Him. The world murdered Him.? The world has consistently hated, rejected, and even murdered followers of Christ ever since Calvary.? They path Christians walk today may grow increasingly difficult.? Already the world hates Christians.? Christians are mocked and rejected as low intelligence people following an imaginary god.? Christians are marginalized and trivialized with the goal of pushing Christians out of any meaningful public dialog, job, or role of leadership.? Recently a doctor was fired for saying that a homosexual lifestyle is dangerous.? He has the facts to support his statement.? Yet, since it is not politically correct to tell the truth anymore, the man has been fired. Christians around the world are being murdered in the name of Allah.? While the statistics are clear that there are many Christians and Moslems and people of other faiths around the globe, life itself is making it increasingly clear that there is a growing number of the population who reject any god at all.? These people want religion relegated to the dustbins of history.? They are very vocal in their ridicule of anyone who believes in any god.? To them, freedom of religion is of no importance at all because they believe everyone worshiping a god/God is a silly human being without any real ability to think critically.? ?Christians are not on an easy path.? Thankfully Jesus gave us instructions on how to behave in all situations.? We are to love our enemies.? We are love others the way Jesus loves us.? We are to pray for those who treat us badly.? Now comes the hard part.? Never once does the Bible say the way to show our love to the lost is to accept what God Himself clearly calls sin.? The Bible says to fear God and keep the commandments.? The commandments clearly tell us not to lie.?A possible situation is this.? Husband is gambling away life savings.? Wife doesn't know.? Friend knows.? Should Fiend tell Wife the truth before Husband loses all their savings?? Friend does not want to hurt wife's feelings, so Friend acts like nothing is wrong.? Husband and wife lose everything.? Here's another one.? Teenager has fast sports car.? He drives way to fast on dangerous roads and during poor driving conditions.? Friend knows this is happening.? If it was Friend's kid, Friend would take away the car keys and make Kid walk or take the bus a few weeks to get Kid's attention.? However, Friend does not tell Kid's parents because he doesn't want to make trouble.? Kid crashes his car and burns to death.? In both these cases did Friend show love or hate by not telling the truth?? ?In case number one Friend knew what would happen if he told the truth.? Some people would call him a trouble maker.? Others would say Wife already knew about Husbands gambling problem.? Others would just say Friend should mind his own business.? In case number two Friend really just doesn't want to get involved.? Maybe Friend was a little gleeful at the thought of Kid getting into some trouble.? After all, parents of Kid were uppity and difficult.? A little embarrassment on their part would be fun to watch.? Friend never considered the dire consequences that were possible.? Friend basically took the easy way out in both situations. ?These stories are just corny stories obviously.? But the point is that people need to hear the truth.? What they do with the truth is their choice.? It is called freedom of choice.? Being spoon fed lies is not going to help anyone.? It will not bring peace among the nations or in families.? It won't make skin color invisible.? Lies are 'a gift from the father of lies'.? Nothing good can come from lies.? Unfortunately, telling the truth is not always easy.? It will often get you into trouble because people living in sin want to hear what their itching ears want to hear.? They want to hear, 'Jesus loves you just as you are.? Come to Jesus.? He will take you just as you are.'? ?When I was growing up we heard his in church all the time.? At the time the preacher always explained that since salvation is by grace through faith cleaning up your act before you go to Jesus is not even possible, much less necessary.? So no one needs to have a long list of good works or give up particular sins to go to Jesus.? What they do have to do is go with a repentant heart fully acknowledging they are sinners.? The Bible says everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.? In true repentance there is sorrow for wrong doings and desire to change that is born of God.? Never under any circumstances or ridiculous scripture twisting does the Bible teach that since God loves you He doesn't require obedience from you. ?Our original ancestor Eve opened the Pandora's box when she listened to the lie Satan was telling.? Satan lied to her because he hated her.? Satan is self-employed as the chief hater and father of lies.? That is what he does.? Nothing good can come from something based on a lie.? Would anyone, having just received a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, prefer treatment based on a lie? Would they want to hear, 'Well, yes you have stage 4 cancer, but you really don't have to worry about it.? Treatment is going to include taking two pills twice a day.? You will be cured in a week. In two weeks you will back to living your life as usual.'? Obviously, that would be a lie.? The person would die.?And here we are today.? There is a massive attempt going on to proclaim sodomy as a normal lifestyle.? Sodomites are to be accepted into society without any discrimination.? This does not change the truth.? God calls it sin.? The job of Christians is not to go looking for a fight.? The job of Christians is to respect God's Word and God's plan.? ?God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.? God commissioned Christians to take the gospel to the world.? God commands us not to lie.? There is no greater lie than a lie that aids the devil in keeping the truth from the lost.? No one should get their hopes up that there will be a great revival at this point in time, although it could happen.? What will happen for sure is that at least some of God's children will speak the truth clearly and plainly.? Repent and turn from your sins.? What else will happen is that at least some lost souls will be saved.?Right now the world is up in arms regarding the Supreme Court decision regarding gay marriage.? I am as appalled as everyone else about this blatant slap in the face to our Creator God.? Yes, Christians and churches do need to speak out against it as it is condoning a sinful lifestyle.? However, many churches have been very lax in their treatment of all sin.? People sitting in church may not want to hear, sex is reserved for one man and one woman inside a marriage.? Gossip is a dreadful sin.? (see my article 'Gossip Hurts Everyone' )? Adultery is an outrageous sin with tentacles of pain and hurt that rips families apart.? Jealousy, coveting what doesn't belong to you is an overwhelmingly evil sin.? I have noticed that jealous people often don't want what someone else has.? They just don't want that person to have anything.? A political aside here is that I see that in the liberal politicians.? They do not want people who work for a living to have the gains of their own labor.? They also do not want poor people to rise above poverty.? IF they actually wanted to help the poor, they would acknowledge their 'help' so far has not helped the poor, but actually hurt them!? Then they would look for ways that actually help people instead of nailing a lid on any possibility of a poor person climbing into the middle class.?Have you ever heard the phrase 'living a lie'?? It is when someone is basically pretending to live one sort of life while actually living another kind of life.? That is what the world is doing today.? They are pretending to care about people, about equality,? justice for all, economics, and helping people.? They are willing to micromanage the lives of every single individual on the planet in order to achieve their lofty goals.? In reality they care about themselves.? They care about staying rich and powerful.? They care nothing for the people.? ?Jesus Christ did not live a lie.? He came to seek and save the lost. Everything He did was working toward that goal. He did not compromise in order to get along.? He showed His love by not changing His message even though it took Him to the cross.? He certainly did not bow down to the politicians and religious leaders of the day.? ?Christians should not live a lie either.? We don't need to pretend to be sympathetic to the evil the world is calling good - which include far more things the latest Supreme Court Rulings.? If something was sin in the days of Jesus' life, then it is sin today. ??I would like to hear more preaching from the pulpit saying, 'If you are living with someone without actually being married then it is time to get married.? I don't care if you are going to lose that monthly check that comes in because you have children without being married.? It is sin.? Stop it!'? (This is not related to any skin color - it is rampant in every segment of the population.)?I would like to hear more preachers shouting, 'God wants you to be obedient!? In obedience you will find joy, but this business of 'god wants me to be happy' is a lie from hell people use to excuse all sorts of sinful behavior.'?I would like to hear preachers clarify the 'do what is right for you' movement.? For Christians, the 'do what is right for you' theology clearly means within the boundaries set for godly behavior in the Bible.? It does not mean you can live in sin, commit adultery, or steal someone else's spouse because God wants you to be happy or because it feels right for you.?I would like to hear preaching regarding dissention and gossip in the church.? Of course there are doctrinal disagreements in churches that must be addressed.? Sometimes these differences bring about rifts in the church.? The tragedy is when personalities cause the problems.? This is cannon fodder for the devil's attack on the credibility of Christianity. ?I believe that so-called 'gay marriage' is now considered legal and even morally correct by some, because what is commonly accepted as sin has been trivialized and marginalized by the 'let's all get along' crowd.? Jesus never changed His teachings to 'get along'.? He might have lived a longer more peaceful life if He had, but then His message of repentance to make peace with God would probably not have had much of an effect on the world.? The church, in doing things like accepting scantily clad disco dancers as tools of evangelism, has been a full partner in watering down the message of the church.? There is nothing worldly that the church can use to advance the cause of Christ.? If people want worldly things they have access to every single worldly thing without setting foot inside a church.? If a church tries to entice the world into the church through worldly things such as feel good sermons instead of preaching Jesus Christ crucified, buried, and risen again, then they are starting with a lie.? Liars never prosper.? You can see that in the dreadful excuses for churches all across the land.? Telling people 'come to Jesus', 'He accepts you just like you are', gives people a very good reason NOT to come to Jesus.? After all, if Jesus requires no change, and you can get everything the world offers without going to Jesus, then exactly why is there any reason to go to Jesus??Now is the time for Christians to get it set in their own hearts if they are actually know Jesus, or if they only know about Jesus.? I know about a lot of people that I have never personally met. There is a huge difference in knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Jesus.? ?True Christians need to set their mind on doing the work of Christ.? Struggle daily not to sin.? Live like the Christian you claim to be.? This includes telling the truth.? God Himself takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.? Neither should we.? Instead our job is to give them the truth so they will have an opportunity to make an informed decision.? Don't be pushed to the sidelines.? Remember my dad's fishing story.? We are like fishermen standing at a great waterfall.? Fish are going over the falls in great number.? Throw out your net and pull in a few.? Don't concentrate on the fish that get away.? Be thankful for the fish you catch.? (Actually, dad used to tell that story using the term 'fish' sometimes, and the term 'lost souls' other times.? It illustrates the point either way.)? ?It is funny when you think about it, but there are no more dedicated people in the world than dedicated fishermen.? They will fish morning, noon, and night, in any kind of weather.? They will go out in boats, stand of logs, and even hang from tree branches over the water if they think it will get them closer to that elusive fish.? I have seen obvious fishermen trailing their fingers in the water of an aquarium at a restaurant!? Jesus knew how fishermen are.? Fishers of men should be as dedicated as fishers of fish!? I know when we look at the world we see leaders who will most likely never come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ.? But this short sighted on our part.? Take your eye off the big catch and look for any catch.? Any lost person needing to hear about Jesus is the potential catch of the day.?? Love them enough to tell them the truth.? Repent and be saved.? ?Rescue the Perishing seems to be a song that will inspire Christians to reach out to the lost.? ?Rescue the Perishing? ?? Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,?Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave;?Weep o'er the erring one, lift up the fallen,?Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save. *Refrain:?Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,?Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.?? While our brothers and sisters gathered for a mid-week Bible study and prayer time, they were shot dead. We have seen an amazing display of forgiveness on their part for this cold-blooded killer. Facing the killer in court, several relatives who also attended AME Church extended their forgiveness to this young man, despite his indescribably evil act.?The church has since gone back to their mid-week Bible study, saying, "This is God's space. We are not giving it up!" God bless them.?Then there are the attacks on Christians in the Middle East by ISIS and other Islamic terrorists, with followers of Jesus being beheaded, tortured and crucified. This is full-tilt persecution.?The church in America is also under attack.?Christians are routinely mocked, marginalized, denigrated and attacked. The Bible clearly tells us that persecution against the church is a sign of the end times. In Matthew 24:9 (NLT) Jesus says: "Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers."?How have you faced such persecution - on any level? The New Testament also makes clear that this shouldn't surprise you. In 2 Timothy 3:12 (NKJV), the Apostle Paul writes, "All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution."?And now the Supreme Court has decided in favor of same-sex marriage.?Needless to say, I am very disappointed by this decision. It is clearly the wrong decision. By making this ruling the court has invalidated the marriage laws of more than half the states, summarily ordering the transformation of a social institution that has formed the basis for human society for literally thousands of years!?The justices couldn't even agree among themselves, resulting in a five-to-four decision. As Chief Justice John Roberts noted in his dissent: "Just who do we think we are? To blind yourself to history is both prideful and unwise. People of faith can take no comfort in the treatment they receive from the majority today." That is true.?But ultimately, this isn't just about family values and Western civilization. This is about a direct challenge to biblical truth. As Christians, we believe what the Bible says about marriage and every other topic.?Some who are not Christians may wonder why this matters so much to us. There's a simple answer. It's because God created marriage. The first marriage was between Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The first miracle Jesus ever performed was at a wedding.?God is very clear about who a marriage is between. Jesus said, "But 'God made them male and female' from the beginning of creation. 'This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.' Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together" (Mark 10:6-9 NLT).?This union that God designed can only exist between a man and woman. Ultimately, a child can come from this union, which is God's purpose.?Malachi 2:15 says, "Didn't the LORD make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth." This "oneness" can only happen between a man and woman. Not between a man and a man or a woman and a woman.?Now, this may seem like a "no-brainer" to many, but in today's culture people are confused about these things. Marriage between one man and one woman is simply what Jesus Christ taught. We cannot and will not compromise on this or any other biblical issue.?I do believe this fateful Supreme Court decision is a sign of the times. You might say that as things seem to be falling apart, they are actually coming together. Jesus said, "So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!" (Luke 21:28)?So, what else should we do in light of this Supreme Court ruling??1. First, don't panic! God is still on the throne.?As my friend, Russell Moore said, "The Supreme Court can do many things; but the Supreme Court cannot get Jesus back in that tomb. Jesus of Nazareth is still alive. He is still calling the universe toward His kingdom."?The fact is, the church often thrives when it is in sharp contrast to the cultures around it. This is what the first-century believers faced in the cultures of Ephesus, Corinth and Athens. They were pagan cultures, with immorality of all kinds running rampant through society. Yet in relatively short order, the church turned their world upside-down. The church did not accomplish this through protests, boycotts or marches. They out-lived, out-loved, out-prayed and out-gave the nonbelievers.?2. We need to remember that Romans 8:28 is still in the Bible.?Romans 8:28 (NKJV) says, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." As Joseph said to his brothers who had betrayed him, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good" (Genesis 50:20 NIV). God in His sovereignty can take the very events meant to harm us or defeat us and use them for His ultimate good.?Psalm 119:91 (NLT) says, "Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves your plans." And Psalm 76:10 reads, "Human defiance only enhances your glory, for you use it as a weapon."?3. We need show this culture what a biblical marriage looks like.?Jesus used the institution of marriage as a picture of His love for the church and our love for Him. This gives us an opportunity to let our light shine and show the watching world a beautiful example of a good and loving marriage. Have we done that? Even as Christians, have we done as good of a job as we can with marriage??Marriage is a big deal to God. He thought of it, created it, blesses it and uses it as a picture to a lost world. The Bible tells husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the church. It's as though Jesus is saying, "See how that husband loves his wife? That's how I love the church!" In the final chapter of Revelation, the church is pictured as the bride. Your marriage should be a testimony and example to nonbelievers watching. Nonbelievers should see it as an example of God's love for them.?When as Christians we break up our marriages for no biblical reason, divorce, marry another, and commit adultery, do we not undermine marriage? Resolve your conflicts, forgive one another, and move forward! Don't tell me about your "irreconcilable differences." I have had those with my wife for 41 years!?She is sometimes late, I am often early.?She is very neat, I am quite messy.?She is cute, and I am fat!?It's irreconcilable!?But it's a funny thing; we seem to love each other more with each passing year.?Permanent, stable marriages with both a mother and father may make us look freakish. Russell Moore said, "We should not fear that. We believe stranger things than that. We believe a previously dead man is alive, and will show up in the eastern skies on a horse. We believe that the gospel can forgive sinners like us and make us sons and daughters. Let's embrace the sort of freakishness that saves."?4. We need to show the love of Christ to everyone!?We need to go to people where they are and engage them with the gospel. God loves all people, including those who identify as homosexual. The fact is, God can change anyone. I do not believe anyone is "born gay," but I do believe we are all born sinners. Just because a person has a "same-sex attraction" does not mean he or she should act on it. We are all tempted to do many things, but God will give us the strength to resist.?The gospel does not define us by our temptations, but by the righteousness of Christ. Listen, we are not against any particular group or individuals. We are not being "unloving" or judgmental. Some would say, "We need to just love and accept people." Didn't Jesus say, "Judge not lest you be judged"??Here is what Jesus said in Matthew 7:1-2 (NKJV), "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you." Before we consider what this means, let's first see what it doesn't mean.?Does it mean that we are never to be critical, or make an evaluation? Some think that being a Christian means we just "love and accept everyone" and never speak critically of anyone under any circumstances. That may be sweet sentiment, but it is not New Testament Christianity. We are to "love everyone" - but if that is true, we must care for their souls as well.?Here is what we need to know. When you love someone, you will speak truthfully to them. The Bible tells us to "Speak the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15 NLT). Some will speak "the truth," but not in love, using it like a sledgehammer. Others will "love" but not speak the truth, which really isn't love at all. If your close friend is wearing a horrible outfit, do you tell them? Do you say, "Hey, did you get dressed in the dark?" Do you tell them if there is food in their teeth? Or, more significantly, if there's sin in their life??Proverbs 27:5 says, "An open rebuke is better than hidden love! Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy."?So, Jesus is saying we need to make certain judgments, and He uses an interesting illustration to make His point - He goes on to tell us not to give what is holy to dogs. How can I accomplish this if I don't practice some sort of judgment? Just who are the dogs? Are they people with flea collars??When the woman was caught in the act of adultery, what did Jesus do? He turned away her accusers, but then said, "Go and sin no more!" He was loving to her, but He challenged her to change.?A better translation of "judge not" would be condemn not. To condemn, is to turn a person away. We should not do that. We should lovingly welcome all who want to come to Christ.?5. We need to engage all people with the gospel.?Everyone is searching. Some, disillusioned with life, may think they may find fulfillment with a member of the opposite sex, others with someone of the same sex. Deep down, what everyone is searching for is a relationship with God. They may oppose us, but that does not mean God cannot change them. No one hated Christians more than Saul of Tarsus. God not only saved him, He raised him up to be a leader in the church.?6. We need to pray.?When the disciples were told by the authorities not to preach anymore they prayed. They prayed for more boldness to tell more people. Then they went out and preached some more. When the authorities passed a law that people could no longer pray, Daniel prayed.?We need to pray for a spiritual awakening in America. We need to pray for our home church and the church as a whole. We are in this together. We stand together or we fall alone. Paul reminds us, "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything" (Philippians 4:6).?We are launching a new initiative calling on Christians to pray every day for the month of July. We want to pray for our churches and for America. We are calling this initiative "3:20," based on Ephesians 3:20-21, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."?Let's not give up or lose hope.??FROM THE HEART??IF YOU HAVE BEEN BLESSED THROUGH THIS MINISTRY, THEN WE ASK THAT YOU WOULD PLEASE REMEMBER PROPHECY UPDATE IN YOUR GIVING - WE ARE TRULY,?TRULY,?THANKFUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT??Prophecy Update has no corporate sponsors. Remember, this letter might have been the first written teaching the Church ever received, predating the Gospels and Paul's letters, with the possible exception of his letter to the Galatians. This time we'll cover chapter 3. Let's begin.?Taming the Tongue? Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check (James 3:1-2).?None of us is perfect. We all say and do things we later discover to have been in error. For most, this is a simple matter of correcting themselves. But for teachers, any error on our part goes straight into the minds of our listeners and may influence their understanding of God's word for the rest of their life. Those who feel they've been called to teach need to have the ability to speak clearly and concisely, relaying only what God has conveyed to them. We also need to be aware that He's listening and will hold us accountable for our teaching. It's not enough for us to fall back on Paul's admonition to our listeners that they check the Scriptures for themselves to see if we're speaking the truth (Acts 17:11). We will also be required to justify everything we've said.?When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one's life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell (James 3:3-6).?Paul took up this same thought in his letters. He cautioned us to rid ourselves of all anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from our lips (Colossians 3:8). Our conversations should not be laced with obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place for believers, but rather with thanksgiving for all we've been given (Ephes. 5:4).?He warned us not to let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths but only what is helpful for building others up that it may benefit those who listen. Doing otherwise grieves the Holy Spirit who is sealed within us until the day of redemption (Ephes. 4:29-30).?All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.?With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water (James 3:7-12).?Jesus said the words that come out of our mouth originate in our heart and these are the things that defile us (Matt. 15:18). Since what we say is a reflection of what's in our heart, and since the heart of natural man is incurably wicked (Jeremiah 17:9), then the only way we can change what comes out of our mouth is to change what we bring into our heart. For that reason, I believe listening to what comes out of our own mouth can provide the clearest sign that we are truly a believer under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Remember, James cautioned us to be doers of the word and not hearers only (James 1:22). Let's be sure that what comes out of our mouth is consistent with what's in our heart.?Two Kinds of Wisdom?Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice (James 3:13-16).?Let's remember that James was not referring to keeping the Law when he spoke of a good life filled with deeds (works) done in humility. The Pharisees showed that keeping the Law did not result in humility, but in arrogance and pride. They looked down on the less fortunate and criticized Jesus for associating with them (Matt. 9:10-11). They believed that if the poor simply lived according to pharisaical standards they would be blessed accordingly. Therefore they had no excuse for their misery and deserved neither compassion nor help.?It's natural for humans to be self-centered and envious of what we perceive to be the success of others. It's part of our sin nature. James said these attitudes are unspiritual and demonic. They promote envy instead of humility and selfishness instead of generosity, and are behind all of man's evil practices.?Only believers realize that before coming to the Lord we really had nothing of value to Him and yet He gave us everything just because we asked. This is what promotes the desire in our heart to share what we have with others. Our kindness and generosity toward others shows the humility that comes from knowing we didn't deserve to be saved, and is a demonstration of our overflowing gratitude for the free gift we've received.?But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness (James 3:17-18).?The wisdom that comes from heaven is not encumbered by ulterior motives and hidden agendas. Paul said the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:23).?In Closing? No mere intellectual assent that God exists or even that Jesus came to teach us how to live a life pleasing to God can produce the changes in a person's attitude that both James and Paul are talking about here.?To become the kind of person they describe, we have to put off our old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires and be made new in the attitudes of our minds (Ephes. 4:22-23).?This is the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit, who is sealed within every born again believer. Only He can produce the kind of change in us that allows us to put aside our self-centeredness and walk in humility, performing good deeds at every opportunity.?You may be surprised to learn that the origin of this thought is the Old Testament. In a remarkable example that this is what God has always wanted from his people, He had the prophet Micah tell us,?He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8).?Live a life pleasing to the Lord and delight in helping those in need, all in a spirit of humility, out of gratitude for what you've been given.
