Regarding the GFE, will the Tech Refresh Mission Computer have the AH-1Z/UH-1Y OFP on it?A1. Yes, GFE MCs will have the OFP on them.Q2. Can the Government provide a list of systems required to be modeled for each platform? A2. Multi-Function Displays (MFDs), Dual-Function Displays (DFDs), Keyboard Unit, Mission Computers, Advanced Memory Unit (AMU), Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), Engines, Drive System, Fuel System, Electrical Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Flight Controls, Flight Instruments, Standby Instruments, Air Data Systems, Fire Protection Systems, Internal Communication Systems (ICS), Ultra High Frequency (UHF)/ Very High Frequency (VHF) Radios, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Global Position Systems (GPS)/ Inertial Navigation System (INS), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Digital Mapping System (DMS), Electronic Counter-Measures (ECMs), Turreted Gun, Wing Stores, Weapon systems, Target Sight Systems (TSS)/BriteStar, Helmet Mounted Sight and Display (HMSD). Q3. Does the Government have data rights to models supporting the current training systems? A3. Yes, the Government has rights to models supporting the current systems except for the Bell Copter Model, source code for Tech-Refresh Mission Computers, and GE Engine Models. The Government also has rights for its H-1 Manned Flight Aero Models. Q4. Will the Government provide accredited models of any existing systems such as RWR, targeting systems and laser warning system? A4. We will provide Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), Target Sight System (TSS), and Laser Detecting Set (LSD) models as GFS. Q5. Can the Government provide source code for all models with Government data rights? A5. The Government can provide source code for Y and Z models except the Bell Copter Model, Tech-Refresh Mission Computers (TRMC) and GE Engine Model. The Government can also provide source code for the H-1 Manned Flight Aero Models. Q6. Will the Government provide the current OFP with source code? A6. The Government will provide the OFP source code for the existing FTDs. Q7. Will the Government provide the OFP utilized in the current training systems? A7. Yes. Q8. Will the Government provide access to the current FTDs along with source code? A8. Yes, with the exception of source code for the Bell Copter Model, Tech-Refresh Mission Computers, and GE Engine Models. Q9. Can the Government provide shipboard passageway and portal dimension limitations?A9. The minimum shipboard passageway that MRTs packaged for transport would need to fit through are 54 inches tall by 24 inches wide. Portal dimension limitations also include maneuvering ladder wells and sharp turns. Q10. Does the Government have packaging weight limitations for MRT movements? A10. The Government desires a single package weight limit of no more than 135 pounds. Q11. Does the Government have a preferred display system (monitors, projection screen, HMD) for the reconfigurable trainer?A11. No. Q12. Should the reconfigurable trainer have motion or is this best presented as an option in the ROM?A12. The MRTs are not required to have a motion system. Q13. Are offerors advised to include sling load operations in solution and the ROM?A13. No. Q14. With respect to the database needed to represent airfields, roads, etc., will this be provided as part of the GFS package or shall this be included in the Technical Volume and ROM? A14. Databases will not be provided as GFS and should be chosen by respondent and included in Technical Volume and ROM. Q15. Are speakers required to support the aural cues that are part of the GFS offering?A15. Speakers are not required for the aural cuing system. Q16. Do the simulated panels need to be located physically in the same position relative to the pilot or could they be moved? A16. The panels and/or monitors need to be located in the same position as in the aircraft.Q17. Will the moving maps system and data be provided as GFI? A17. The Compressed Raster Graphics products that contain map data from NGA will be made available as GFE. The system that controls the moving map, that is, the mission computer, is also GFE. Q18. Will rotor sound models be provided as GFI? A18. Yes. Q19. Does the image generator interface currently utilize CIGI or similar standard protocols? A19. There is no existing trainer. Most vendors that have worked on NAVAIR related training device programs have used the CIGI interface.Q20. Is the rendering pipeline using standard rendering libraries such as OpenGL? A20. The choice of a rendering library, be it OpenGL, Vulcan, DirectX, or something else, is considered a vendor choice. Q21. Will Mission Planning Software such as JMPS be provided and with ICDs?A21. No, mission planning software will not be provided. Q22. Will the current training system technical documentation be provided at award? A22. Yes, technical documentation will be provided at award.Q23. Can the Government please provide what software language/format the Government Furnished Aerodynamic Models will be in? A23. The Government furnished H-1 Manned Flight Simulation Aero Models are written in C++.Q24. The Improved Data Modem (IDM) allows digital messages to be sent and received from a modernized, rotary-wing aircraft. Will the H-1 MRT require this or a similar (I.e. Link 16) tactical data messaging capability to be simulated?A24. No, not at this time for the prototype device. Q25. Will the MRT device require both pilot and co-pilot training? Or will the device only need to be configured for pilot training for both platforms?A25. The MRT shall include both pilot and co-pilot positions. The MRT can be reconfigurable between both platforms.Q26. As a follow-up to Q&A number 25, it is understand that the MRT solution must include the pilot and co-pilot stations. The UH is a side by side cockpit configuration that can meet the 6ft x 6ft x 6ft footprint. However, the AH is a tandem and if we place the cockpits end to end, we will exceed the desired length. Is it acceptable to configure the AH in a side by side like the UH?A26. Yes, it would be acceptable to configure the AH in a side-by-side configuration.Q27. Will the USG allow a mixed reality solution?A27. Yes, the Government will consider the use of mixed reality systems.Q28. Can you provide a full training task list instead to define the acronym task list?A28. Please refer to the 3500.104B AH-1Z Training and Readiness (T&R) Manual, and 3500.20C UH-1Y Training and Readiness (T&R) Manuals. ................
