Our Commitment to Your Privacy

BT US&C is committed to respecting your privacy and that of your company. This policy describes our privacy practices and expresses our commitment to keeping you informed about the information BT US&C consultant teams develop during a project engagement and upload on the Insight portal, and how that information is used. We ask that you take time to read it carefully. We may update this policy to reflect new uses, rules, regulations or technologies that impact your privacy. We recommend that you review our policy on a regular basis to learn about these changes.

General

The Insight portal website is developed and administered by BT US&C IT. The primary purpose of insight.usc- is to be a dynamic resource and business tool that gives you a single, continuous connection to your BT US&C projects and BT US&C knowledge resources anywhere you have access to the Internet.  In today's connected business world, having current information on projects that are underway and access to knowledge resources can help you make the right decisions.

What Information do we store on the Insight Portal?

Information that is stored on the Insight portal is gathered in two ways:

1) Indirectly - for example through our site’s technology

2) Directly - for example, when the BT US&C team uploads project documentation to Insight.

One example of information we collect indirectly is through our web access logs. When you access insight.usc-, your internet address is automatically collected and is placed on our internet access log files.

Following are several examples of information that come directly from you:

Cookies

A cookie is a small, encrypted data string containing a unique code that our server writes to your hard drive. It cannot be used to access or otherwise compromise the data on your hard drive. We track cookies to understand how you navigated through the site and what information was of interest to you for the purpose of improving our web site. Our cookies cannot be used to identify you or your physical location. Our entire site is accessible and navigable without cookies. You can choose to change your browser settings to disable cookies or alert you to their presence before accepting them.

• General

We gather minimal information about site visitors — only what we need to track traffic on our site, complete registration processes, and to follow up on communications with us. We do not provide your information to anyone. Whatever information you enter anywhere on our site is used only to complete the particular business function you initiate when you input your profile information.

• Project Related

The BT US&C consultant team uploads all the project deliverables and documents that are produced for the engagement that they are doing for you. In addition to the BT US&C team, you may upload documentation about your technical environment that the BT US&C team needs to complete the project.

• Feedback

If you request additional information about BT US&C services, we use your contact information to get in touch with you regarding your feedback or to schedule time with you to talk about other BT US&C services. We retain records about customer service and technical service requests (e.g. issue tickets) for purposes of providing you with an improved level of service.

Data Security

BT US&C is committed to ensuring the security of your information. We use data validation, configuration management, data encryption technology, privacy protection controls, session management and restrictions on user access in order to safeguard your information. Only authorized employees will have access to your information and such access is limited to a need-to-know basis. Access for users is restricted to only the data they have permission to see.

BT US&C has an Insight Security Policy which has been reviewed and approved by the BT US&C Security Review Board. The BT US&C Security Review Board is responsible for doing design and code reviews on web applications developed internally by the IT organization. The BT US&C Ethical Hacking Center of Excellence (EHCOE) performs penetration testing on new web applications and on major enhancements to our web applications.
