How to Use the On-Screen Calculator
An on-screen calculator is available to you for this test. To access the calculator during the test, click on the which appears in the upper left corner of the screen.

The calculator may be viewed in either "standard" or "scientific" format. To toggle between the two formats, click on the "View" menu that appears at the top of the calculator and select either "scientific" or "standard."
The scientific and standard formats are shown below.

Please be aware that when entering decimal numbers containing multiple zeros to the right of the decimal point, only the first zero will appear in the display until a nonzero digit is entered. For example: When 0.0005 is entered, only 0.0 appears in the display until the 5 is entered. Likewise 0.00034005 appears as 0.0 until the 3 is entered, and then appears as 0.000340 until the 5 is entered.

Practicing Before Your Test
If you have access to a computer running Windows, you may practice using an on-screen calculator by opening the Windows calculator application. From the Start menu, go to Programs > Accessories > Calculator. If the "standard" calculator is visible and you would like to use the "scientific" version, from the calculator menu, go to View > Scientific. The Windows scientific calculator is very similar to the calculator you will use on the VUE computer-based test. If you would like further information about how to use the Windows calculator, from the calculator menu go to Help > Help Topics and select a topic.
