Eligibility for the 403(b) Plan:
All employees of the University are eligible to participate in the 403(b) plan with the exception of non-resident aliens with no U.S. source of income and student employees exempt from FICA taxation Universal Availability Provision). If eligible, you may save for retirement by making tax deferred contributions or post-tax Roth contributions through the WIU 403(b) Supplemental Retirement Plan. The reduction in your paycheck may be less than your elective deferral to your account as your elective, pre-tax deferral reduces the income tax you pay.

To begin contributions to a WIU 403(b) Supplemental Retirement Plan, contact one of the representatives or companies listed above for an enrollment packet, explanation of the investment option(s) and current fund performance data. A completed enrollment form(s) creating an account with the chosen vendor should be submitted to the company. Payroll reduction forms must be completed with the HR Benefits Office in order for deductions to start.
