Dues payments are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Dues payments (or a portion) may be deductible as a miscellaneous itemized deduction. Dues take place September through June, continuing until employee discontinues deduction through Employee Self Service (ESS). I understand that VBCPS is not responsible for remaining dues deductions should you discontinue employment or payroll deductions, and I also authorize VBCPS to take payroll deductions and release your name, WISE ID number and work location to the VBEA. Payroll deductions will begin on the first practical payroll following submission of this form.

Annual membership dues to the NEA include $5.65 for NEA Today, $3.40 for NEA-Retired and/or $6.58 for the Higher Education publications. The NEA publication(s) received by members are based on membership category. Annual membership dues to VEA include a subscription to the Virginia Journal of Education.

Membership is open only to those who agree to subscribe to the principles, goals and objectives of the Association and to abide by its charter, constitution and bylaws.

Directions on how to authorize payroll dues deductions for VBEA membership

1-Go to 2- If you are prompted to login you will need to use your school/network login (i.e.- josmith is the user name for John O. Smith) and network password. 3- Scroll to the bottom of the VBCPS Intranet page and click on Employee Self Service- Wise 4- Click on the Wise Employee Self Service Logo

5- You will need to enter your user name and password. It is the same as your network/email user name and password. (i.e. josmith is the user name for John O. Smith) 6- After logging in you will see a menu bar on the left hand side. Select the Association Dues option.

7- You will then want to check off the appropriate box, and finally, press Submit Changes.
