|Objectives: |

|Students will review the organization of the media center, and the use of Destiny. They will learn to create resource lists and citation lists in Destiny. |

|Activities & Strategies: |

|Review with students the various types of books housed in the library (Easy fiction, Fiction, Non-fiction, Biographies) and where to find each. |

|Review with students how each type of book is arranged on the shelf. |

|Review with students the call numbers of each type of book. |

|Have students log in to Destiny through VPortal. |

|Review the use of Destiny |

|Search should be set to “Any Type” and _________ Elementary (insert your school name) |

|Sort by Call Number |

|Review procedures for search by title, author, and subject |

|Review/teach how to access SAFARI Montage videos |

|Teach students how to add a book to a list, how to access resource lists, and how to print the lists. |

|Teach students how to create/print citation lists. |

|Have students create a resource list of 3 books that interest them. |
