Directions: Read through the following paragraph. Then, go back through it and change verbs that are not in the correct tense. Simply cross out the verb and write the correct one above it. Before you begin to cross any out, decide what tense the paragraph should be in.

It all started as soon as I came home from school. I am in my room, and I plan to study for two hours. It was about five o’clock. To my surprise, Samantha decided to drop by. She dashes into the house, slams the door behind her, and yells for me. She will want a fishing companion. She had thought about going fishing all last week. Getting my gear together, I become excited and can almost see the fish fighting over which one will be my first catch. On our way out to the lake, we see clouds begin to form and we knew we are in for trouble. It rains for the whole evening. Once again, the fish are lucky.
