What's Love Got To Do With It?

What's Love Got To Do With It?(John 3:16 KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.I have a secret confession to make although I'm a preacher— to be perfectly honest with you, all the music that I listen to isn't just centralized on gospel music. I like all types of artists. I love to listen to R-Kelly, H-Town, Boyz II Men, Bobby "Blue" Bland, The Isley Brothers, Lil-Boosie, T-I, and Drake—because it teaches me on how to relate to y'all because you listen to it all week long—and I have to know how to get your mind right on Sunday Morning. As I was riding along this week, I heard a song on the siriusxm satellite radio and it begin to intrigue my mind. There are some songs that we have heard repeatedly over the years that we quit listening to the words, or we find that we never gave the song our undivided attention in the first place. As?I was listening to the oldies station, Tina Turner came on the radio.?And she was singing “What’s Love Got to do with it?” And y'all know I can’t remember the words to many whole songs, but I have heard the chorus of this one a thousand times."What's Love Got To Do With It?"Oh what's love got to do, got to do with itWhat's love but a second hand emotionWhat's love got to do, got to do with itWho needs a heartWhen a heart can be brokenShe goes on to sing:What`s love got to do, got to do with itWhat's love but a sweet old fashioned notionWe know that love is more than emotion and we know that love is not an outdated notion. But that doesn’t answer Tina’s question does it. Just what does love have to do with it? How important is love to the things that we do? I think the obvious answer is, “Love has everything to do with it.” Love is what it is all about!Amazingly, from the beginning of time until Christ returns, and even thereafter, it's all about love. The entire Bible from start to finish is about God’s love for us—and Tina was just looking in the wrong place.?Over two thousand years ago because of the love of God, He gave us the gift of His son because he loved us! Here is the well-known love verse of the bible.(John 3:16 KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.Let's unpack the profoundness of this verse:"God."—that's the Person."So loved the world.—" that's where He Practice."That he gave his only begotten Son"—That's His Proof."That whosoever believeth in him."—That's His People."Should not perish."—That's His Promise."But have everlasting life."—That's His Peace. ................
