VIP

Your child's day to be the VIP (Very Important Person) is indicated on our calendar, which can be found on our classroom blog located at . If your child misses a VIP day, please remind your child that a turn will come up again. Please send a close up photo of your child, about the size of the bottom of a pop can, that will be used for our classroom word wall.

VIP Ribbon Attached is a VIP ribbon for you to decorate and cut out with your child. Please use a safety pin to attach the VIP ribbon to your child's shirt, or include it in your child's important bag.

My Name In our classroom we use the children's names to teach the alphabet and phonics skills that are necessary for reading. Your child's assignment is to create their name on the paper provided. Your child may use any materials they would like to create the name but please remember that it must only have a capital at the beginning followed by the lowercase letters. (E.g. Heather). When you and your child have completed the project please discuss the questions with your child so that your child is prepared to answer them at school during VIP time. Please send the completed question sheet to school in the VIP bag with the project so that if your child gets nervous the teacher can use your answers to prompt him or her.

If the project is too messy to put in the Important bag when it is complete please use a plastic bag instead.

What Is It? Help your child to choose one item to hide in a plastic bag. Please practice with your child but be sure that you fill out the What Is It? paper so that your child's teacher can help as needed. Please note that when choosing a rhyming word, nonsense words are acceptable (ex: dinosaur/rinosaur). Also, please be sure that your child knows the sound, not the letter, which the item begins and ends with. All items, including What Is It? should be returned in your child's Important Bag on the VIP date as indicated on the calendar. --------------------------------------------------Cut here--------------------------------------------------
