? Thrift Savings Plan - As a new Government employee, you have the opportunity to save for your retirement through the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). The TSP is similar to a 401(k) plan in the private sector. It is in addition to the FERS Basic Annuity (administered by the Office of Personnel Management), which you receive when you retire from Federal civilian service, or the retired pay you receive when you retire from the uniformed services.

USCIS I-9 Form Instructions - Tools to use in filling out the Form I-9. Form I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.
Statement of Prior Federal Service, SF 144 Instructions - This form is used to credit you with any previous Federal service not listed on your original resume. This information is used to give you proper credit for leave benefits, retirement and retention status in case of a reduction-in-force.
Read the instructions on page 1 of this form that explain what documentary evidence is necessary in order to credit you with your former Federal/military service. If you plan on claiming credit for former periods of Federal employment, make sure you bring any/all evidence with you to your formal in processing session with your CPAC representative.
On page 2, fill in item 1 through 3 as indicated.
If the resume you submitted includes all your prior Federal service (including military service) check Yes in item 4 and skip to question 8. If you have prior Federal civilian or military service that was not listed on the application you used to apply for this position, check No in item 4 and complete items 5-9.
If you are claiming any type of veteran preference based on your status as a spouse of a disabled veteran, a mother of a deceased or disabled veteran, or an unmarried widow of a veteran, check Yes and the appropriate boxes in item 8. Otherwise, check the 'NO' box in item 8.
Print the completed form. Sign and date the form in block 9 and submit it to the personnel office representative.
Military Leave for Service Members
VA employees who are called to active duty in any of the uniformed armed service branches and their reserves, the National Guard and the uniformed branches of the US Public Health Service should notify their immediate supervisor upon receiving mobilization orders.
