VCA Valley Animal Medical Center Emergency Hospital is a high-quality 24-hour emergency, referral and general practice located in the beautiful Palm Springs area and is currently looking for a full-time Associate Veterinarian.

VCA Valley was founded in 1996 and has developed a reputation as the hospital of choice in the community. The practice itself is a modern, state-of-the-art facility in a 10,000 building. As it stands now, with the closest emergency hospital being 80 miles away, the practice is very busy, with a large and varied client base as well as an extensive referral base. In addition to the general practice's preventative care patients, there is a significant case load of critically injured or ill patients requiring round-the-clock care. The hospital has all the bells and whistles you would expect from an emergency practice including all the latest toys. However, it is the support staff (27 technicians with 11 RVTs) that make this such a great place to work.

As the hospital continues to grow there is a need for an additional associate. Because of the large case load this is an excellent opportunity for someone out of an internship program and emergency experience is preferred. To best fit the personality of the practice, the right candidate should be enthusiastic, have a dedication to best medical practices, have a good work ethic attitude and most importantly, excellent communication skills.

VCA Animal Hospital of Burbank is a three doctor practice with a Medical Director that is obsessed with providing a level of medicine that is above and beyond what other practices provide. The beauty is that they manage to do this while fostering and nurturing a staff camaraderie that is no different than a very close family or an intimate circle of friends.

The hospital is located in an affluent area, the clients are compliant and have sufficient funds to be able to support the super high level of medical & surgical care that the doctors strive and expect to provide.

Although there are multiple doctors on at a time, the high case load and intense care given to each patient limits the time available for training. This means that this position is not meant for new graduates. The Medical Director is happy to mentor, but it would not be a 'hand-holding' type of teaching environment. Ideally, we would love to find either an experienced practitioner or an intern trained doctor that is able to hit the ground running, confident but also knows that help is just around the corner if needed.
