Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State

Pre-Veterinary Medicine

Mississippi State is very proud of its school of veterinary medicine. It is one of only 27 vet schools in the nation. The school is divided into three departments: Basic Sciences, Clinical Sciences, and Pathobiology and Population Medicine. The school offers graduate degrees through these departments as well as the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

There are two ways in which students may gain admission to vet school:

The Early Admissions Program The Traditional Admissions Program

There is no `pre-veterinary' major or degree. The vet school lists eight majors that satisfy all the admission requirements: Animal and Dairy Science
