Japanisthelatestcountrytoannouncetheirattendanceatthe4thWorldHomeshareCongress.AJapanese

delegationhasattendedthetwopreviousCongresses,sowearedelightedthattheywilljoinusinNovember inMelbourne."Yes,welovetomakethepresentation"istheirenthusiasticreply."Thankyouverymuchfor

yourcareaboutJapan.Japanesehomeshareisstillsmallthough,butitisgettingtheattentionlittlebylittle." Wereallylookforwardtohearingabouttheirprogress.

STATE RECEPTION FOR HOMESHARE CONGRESS

ItiswithgreatpleasurewecanannouncethattheMinisterforHousing,Disability&Ageing,MartinFoleywill hostareceptionforourinternationalguests,interstatedelegatesandspeakersinthestateParliamentHouse on Wednesday 4th November. This is a signal honour accorded to Homeshare by the Minister and the government.

TRANSPORT

From the airport. A Skybus will take delegates to The Vibe Hotel, and to other city hotels for

AUS$20.Muchcheaperthantaxis.

Trams in the Central Business District are free. At the edge of the CBD a sign embedded in the

footpathattramstopstellswhenfaresmustbepaid.

AMYKIcardisnecessarytotravelonalltransportoutsidetheCBD.Therearetrains,busesandtrams

tochoosefrom.TheMYKIcardissimilartotheOYSTERcardinBritain.

As with most big cities these days there are bicycles to hire all over the place. However there is a

legalrequirementtowearahelmet.Thesecanbepurchasedverycheaply

AFLEXICARserviceexistsforthosewishingtohireacar.

Recently,asaTrusteeofHomeshare International,IjoinedtheHI Managementteamtohelpwith preparationoftheCongressandto plantheHITrustees'Planningday whichwillprecedetheCongress.

Threemeetingswiththefive participantspicturedherehave beenheldsofar-eachrunningfor about1?hours.Asmuchgood workisachievedinthattimeaswe wouldhavedoneinafacetoface meeting.Perhapsmore,asworking onthescreenwithasenseofthe clocktickingfocusesthemind. Aspartoftherestructuringchanges,Ihaveacceptedaredundancyeffectivefrom1/7/2015.CBSwill continuetomaintainanactiveinterestinandongoingconnectionwithHANZA.
