POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Inside Sales & Cost Analyst Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports To: Vice President, Sales & Marketing Status: Non-Exempt

Port Contractors, Inc. is a progressive, privately owned organization offering material processing, handling, storage and stevedoring services. With multiple locations, Port Contractors has evolved into one of the premier material handling companies on the east coast. Headquartered in the Wilmington, Delaware area, we are seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to serve as Inside Sales & Cost Analyst. This role will provide the successful candidate a unique opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team that is committed to the continued growth and expansion of the organization.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position serves as business support to the Sales and Operations management team by providing assistance in accurately analyzing and estimating costs associated with all business opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Analyze the labor, equipment and scope of work needed for vessel activity and other business opportunities to develop the costs associated with each job.

• Assist in the preparation of quotes and rate sheets.

• Manage and maintain files of all customer activity.

• Provide Inside Sales support for all business activity.

• Maintain knowledge and understanding of industry trends and target markets.

• Provide effective and efficient high quality customer service.

• Participate in Sales and Operations planning to understand and assess scope of work.

• Work with Operations and Finance to resolve customer issues related to billing.

QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, Marketing or related discipline.

• At least 1 to 3 years experience in the commercial maritime, rail, trucking or construction industries.

• Knowledge of dry bulk, break bulk, stevedoring, and terminal operations.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to create detailed costing analysis.

• Strong, effective verbal/written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management.

• Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail.

• Excellent creativity, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
