The chairman also expressed his disappointment that a member of the council had questioned the legality of the cancellation.Declarations of interestCouncillor Mrs Haddow commented that she felt that any discussions regarding the Parish Council and the hall Management Committee would be a conflict of interest for Councillor Bray. She requested that Councillor Bray should leave the meeting during these discussions and asked for her concerns to be minuted. Councillor Bray said that as there were two councillors on the management committee why they not had to leave. Councillor Huggins commented that he felt that it was not necessarily a conflict because of being married to a member of the committee. The Chairman asked for a vote on the motion and there was a count of 6 for and 2 against. Councillor Mrs Brown declared an interest and left the meeting at 7.45pm Councillor Mrs Haddow proposed that the tenants receive the ?80.00 plus a ?5.00 retainer for the litter pick up. She also prposed that the council buy a cheap mobile phone for Peter to report any problems in the Welfare field and surrounding areas.Proposed Councillor Mrs HaddowSeconded Councillor BurnsUnanimousPlayground RepairsIt was decided that any money raised by the calendar would go to the Playground repair fund. The repair and maintenance should become a village project and involve everyone.All Parish Councillors to come back with fundraising ideas.Closure of Post OfficeCouncillor Mrs Haddow declared an interest and left the meeting.The council have been asked for comments on the proposed closure of the post office. The Chairman expressed his only concern that if the post office does not move to the chemist then the village will lose it.It was agreed that the council should write a letter to support the proposed move.Councillor Burns to write the letter.Problems with the MUGAAfter complaints regarding the MUGA being covered in moss and being very slippy the decision was taken to close it temporarily until it could be inspected and any maintenance carried out.The clerk to liaise with Grant Watson of Alnwick Tennis Club regarding the problems and also to invite Grant to the next meeting to discuss the arrangement between Parish Council and Tennis Club.Advice from SolicitorsThe chairman and Vice Chair proposed that the council has to seek legal advice regarding the on-going problems with Management Committee.Welfare Hall CharityUnder the Local Government Act 1976 Section 100A Subsection a&b the Parish Council move that any members of the public or press must be excluded due to the nature of business to be transacted. Confidential or financial information would be disclosed in breach of obligation of confidence and in turn could affect future proceedings if members of the public or press were present.A unanimous vote was carried and therefore the remainder of the meeting was confidential.Meeting Closed at 9.55pm ................
