Director of Worship MinistriesWeekly Hours Estimate: 40 (Full-Time, Salaried)Summary of Duties:Responsible for leading the church in maintaining a culture of authentic and humble worship that is God-centered and connected to the heart, soul, mind and body. Works in cooperation with the Lead Pastor to coordinate all elements of worship for weekly and special services in a way that aligns with church vision, enriches and enlivens the worship experience, and above all, glorifies God. Recruits, equips, mentors and provides leadership to worship ministry volunteer teams in a manner that promotes collaboration, faithfulness and joy. The position requires a well-rounded team player, possessing a combination of musical, spiritual and technical aptitude.Qualities Desired:A four-year degree in a related field. A minimum of 4 years’ experience in music ministry leadership.Expertise and versatility in a wide range of musical styles and instrumentation. Demonstrated ability to lead worship vocally as well as play an instrument, preferably guitar, piano or petent in basic music theory.Understanding of the technical components of enhanced worship ministry, including sound, video, lighting, projection, live streaming and worship planning software. Familiarity with LogicPro, GarageBand, OBS and Ableton is preferable.Experience recruiting and empowering a volunteer network and providing ongoing management, mentoring and support.Excellent organizational skills.A genuine interest and spiritual calling/concern for leading and drawing people into joyful corporate worship in a way that connects people to God.Demonstrated ability to disciple adults in the foundations of the Christian faith consistent with Wesleyan theology and model practices of spiritual maturity.Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication mitment to growth in relationship with God through worship, prayer, scripture reading and relationships with other mitment to professional growth through continuing education, training and discipleship mitment to the success and growth of ministry through the use of spiritual gifts and abilities.A teachable spirit and ability to work cooperatively with the pastor(s), ministry staff, volunteer leaders and others in supporting the vision and core values of the church.To Whom Responsible:The Lead Pastor Responsibilities:Develops and updates a relational strategy of musical worship that aligns with church vision and mission. Works jointly with pastor(s), staff and volunteer teams to implement the ministry initiatives and goals.In collaboration with the Lead Pastor, oversees all aspects of worship for weekly and special services. This includes but is not limited to: Developing themes and flowSelecting multi-mediaCoordinating special music, drama and other service elementsPurchasing, monitoring and maintaining instruments and sound equipment Selecting weekly worship songs Updating Planning Center Services with songs and band rosterScheduling weekly musicians, sound and computer volunteer teams Leading weekly worship rehearsal Leading Sunday morning worship and other pre-recorded or live moments of worshipRecruits, equips and empowers Worship Ministries leaders and volunteer teams. Provides leadership, oversight and mentoring for the following teams:Praise TeamWorship Design Team (includes Altar Dressing, Drama)Sound TechniciansWorship Cue InputComputer OperatorsVideo Ministry Operators Acolytes/Ushers/Greeters (in partnership with Hospitality & Connections ministry)Choir and AccompanistsCommunion StewardsMay assist in the development of choral and instrumental groups, providing leadership, supervision and support as needed.Coordinates ministry teams and individuals needed for weddings and funerals.In partnership with the Hospitality & Connections ministry, oversees the seasonal decorating of the sanctuary and other areas of the church.Seeks and/or supports ways to create new expressions of ministry that meet the growing needs for a faith culture within and outside the church.Responsible for continued spiritual growth through attendance at worship, participation in Bible studies and/or workshops, and ministry outreach opportunities.Responsible for continued professional growth through participation in continuing education opportunities as appropriate and available.Participates in staff meetings and team building activities. Demonstrates support for church staff and events through presence, prayer and physical support. Develops ministry annual budget, ensures adherence to budget, maintains accurate records, and submits budget requests and expenses as directed.Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality with regard to church records, events, situations and safe sanctuary information. Participates in annual First Aid/CPR training to maintain certification.
