Days 1 & 2 (Monday & Tuesday):
▪ Develop a rough draft of a Thanksgiving themed greeting card/letter using all 20 vocabulary words from Unit 3. If working with a partner, create ONE draft/card and put both names in the MLA heading.
▪ Address it to a specific person or group of people with whom you wish to share thanks.
▪ Be sure to underline/highlight each vocabulary word and clearly demonstrate its meaning by incorporating a context clue.
▪ Get creative with how you use the words! Your draft will be collected at the end of each day.
Day 3 (Wednesday):
▪ Create a final draft of your card on the paper provided.
▪ Use the art supplies to make it colorful and visually appealing!
It’s time to spread some holiday cheer,
So expunge the jingoism we sometimes fear!
I may be too candid as I use some holiday argot,
But be merry, jingle bells, and on a sleigh go!
Don’t appease those bigots who are negligent and unmerry,
Ignore their strident sounds and enjoy the holly berry!
Forget the shopping chaos and all the running around,
Let’s instead augment the cheer and share our holiday joy all abound!
