Skills Assessment Module (SAM)

Skills Assessment Module (SAM)

SAM is a research based-standardized assessment of interests, abilities and needs essential for job and training success. SAM assesses learning styles, basic skills, vocational interests, aptitudes, and work performances. Individuals may be assessed prior to entering a job or training program to determine how an individual’s work traits correlate to critical job entry and training requirements. Aided with this information, the transition team (IEP Committee) will be able to identify and recommend realistic, meaningful career goals and objectives for their students or clients.

About SAM

• Fun and engaging hands-on activities stimulate the interest of youth and adult special populations.

• SAM was normed and developed in multiple, career/tech training programs oriented toward mainstreaming mildly handicapped and disadvantaged youth as well as the adult special needs population
