TITLE:Vice President for Plant ServicesLAST REVISED:May 1, 2021REPORTS TO:SVP for OperationsMETHOD OF PAY:SalaryPurpose of Your PositionThe primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of the Physical Plant Services unit in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing Magnolia Manor to assure that it is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. Physical Plant Services consists of three major functional areas: Engineering, Grounds Keeping, and Safety/Security. As VP for Plant Services, you are delegated the administrative authority, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure healthcare facilities are in compliance with state and federal regulations and related requirements.Supervise, mentor and assign projects to Facility Maintenance Directors while managing daily functions of the Environmental Services Department at the corporate level. Develops written policies and procedures manuals for Environmental Services Departments (including standards for maintenance and servicing of facilities) and ensure overall compliance.Make recommendations to the Administrators, Area Vice President, Senior Vice President, and/or Executive Leadership for capital improvements and equipment items.Maintain continuing education programs and on the job training for Facility Environmental Service Directors, as well as the facility supervisor level for Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry services. Conduct and maintain the facility inspection reports ensuring compliance with the same.Oversee special projects assigned to the Environmental Team.Work with Facility Maintenance Directors and Administrators in contract negotiating, and monitor for standards set forth by Magnolia Manor. Ensures that all departmental staff attends and participates in all relevant training programs as needed. Stay current on relative State and local regulations, as well as train and educate staff accordingly. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Ability to effectively communicate with external clients such as, construction contractors/superintendents, building inspectors, city or county zoning officials. Working knowledge of state and federal regulations governing Long Term Care and Skilled Nursing. Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as word, excel, and outlook. Become familiar and operate Building Engines. Working knowledge of the budgets for the Environmental Services Department. Ability to lead, counsel, and mentor members of the Environmental Services Department. MINIMUM NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Extensive knowledge in OSHA, NFPA Life Safety Codes, Building Codes/ADA regulations, Joint Commission or DNV, CMS DPHEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:Must possess a degree or diploma from a collegiate or technical learning institution related to engineering, architecture, safety, construction management or other related fields. Seven to ten years’ experience in related career field and/or other health care division. Must have a minimum of three years supervisory experienceComputer literacy/experience required ACKNOWLEDGEMENTI have read this job description and fully understand the requirements set forth there in.
