DESCRIPTION

The Corporate Strategy group works across the Pfizer enterprise to identify and analyze key strategic questions that underpin decisions made by the Pfizer Executive Committee and Board of Directors. This role is dynamic, fast paced, and covers a broad range of issues impacting the health care industry. For this particular role, we are looking for someone who brings an investor perspective through their experience on Wall Street and/or in-house business development.

Our primary responsibility is to lead cross-functional teams through the process of building a business case and recommendation on key strategic decisions. These decisions fall generally in the areas of enterprise structure, scenario planning, and operational efficiency.

Enterprise Structure Pfizer has recently been very open with Wall Street that as a company, we are considering options regarding our enterprise structure. Admittedly, one option would be to stay exactly as we are today; however, to reach that decision all alternatives must still be thoroughly considered. The corporate strategy team will play a role in partnering with the CEO, CFO, and other members of the Pfizer Executive Committee to identify issues, analyze options, and build recommendations that will have a significant and lasting impact on Pfizer's trajectory.

Scenario Planning There are a number of critical milestones that will unfold over the next couple of years that could significantly impact the company. These events include internal pipeline readouts, shifting health care market place dynamics across the globe, and overall macro economic trends. Anticipating these events with advance planning for our response will enable Pfizer to continue its leadership role in the industry. The corporate strategy team works with Pfizer Executives to scenario plan for various combinations of events and responses.

Operational Efficiency Pfizer is committed to continuously improving our cost and operational base. To that end, the corporate strategy team partners with various organizations throughout Pfizer to ensure the smooth implementation of recent organizational changes, and to identify the next generation of opportunities for increased operational efficiency and effectiveness by assembling teams to analyze proposed opportunities from idea through to implementation.

REQUIREMENTS Minimum Requirements For This Particular Position: - Master's degree in business, strategy or related quantitative field - At least 10 years of experience investment banking and/or in-house business development

The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated track record in: - Analyzing/quantifying complex strategic questions tied to the creation of shareholder value - Superb presentation and oral / written communication skills - Expertise in project managing complex, cross-functional projects - Creativity, and a comfort with a "blank sheet of paper" assignments
