Step 1: Navigate to the Volusia County Homepage:

Step 2: Click on the green "Students" tab

Step 3: Scroll to the bottom of the page, under Quick Links, click on the VPortal link. Or, click on the VPortal tab

Step 4: Log in to the student VPortal using the following as your student user name and student password:

Student username: 1abcd@ (where 1abcd = your student alpha code) Student password: DOB in mmddyyyy form (all eight digits: example 09012015) After Step 4, you may be taken directly to password manager. If this occurs, see page 2 of this

document, Managing the Password Manager. You will then come back to steps 5 and 6.

VPortal Inside VPortal there are differing Menu choices; Home, My Tiles, Digital Resources, etc... You will find

the HMH-Collections app tile under the Digital Resources menu. Step 5: Click on Digital Resources *Step 6: Click on the HMH-Collections app tile

*When you click on the HMH: ELA/Math/French tile, you will be prompted to enter your credentials into Password Manager. See the next page for help with the Password Manager.

Managing the Password Manager

The first time you log in, you may come to the Password Manager screen.

The VPortal Password Manager will save your credentials to help create a single-sign-on experience when accessing digital resources through VPortal from ANY computer. These directions will explain how to setup and save your credentials for applications in VPortal.

Step 1: After selecting the HMH-Collections app tile in VPortal, when prompted, enter your VCS Network password to confirm your identity. This will be your Student password: DOB in mmddyyyy form (all eight digits: example 09012015)

Step 2: Enter the username and/or password for the digital resource. This is, again, Student username: 1abcd@ (where 1abcd = your student alpha code) Student password: DOB in mmddyyyy form (all eight digits: example 09012015)

By clicking on the "eye" icon, you can see what you are typing in as the user name and password.

Step 3: Click once on the Update Stored Passwords button to save the credentials entered.

Once you have entered your information in password manager, you should always then be taken to the HMH-Collections student dashboard when you click the HMH-Collections app tile.

When you are successfully logged in, your HMH-Collections dashboard will look like this:

You will see your first name.

This is your online student textbook.

You will see the grade level for your English Language Arts class.
