Introduction

On rare occasions, it may be necessary to close school due to weather or other emergency situations. If this occurs, Richard Milburn Academy will make every effort to ensure that our students' educational opportunities continue while at home. Throughout the years, our school has compiled a comprehensive collection of online content and digital resources.

The Instructional Continuity Plan addresses how content will be delivered to students that attend Ricard Milburn Academy. This ICP explains which resources students will use for core instruction and which materials can be used as supplemental resources to enhance core instruction.

Communication Plan

We have the following communication mediums to communicate effectively with parents: School Website, Emails, and ConnectED-calls Survey conducted with all families regarding accessibility of technology in the home and access to internet Created new email address for parents who need help: info@ Message posted on website to parents regarding distribution of meals

Technology Plan Survey conducted with all families regarding accessibility of technology in the home All families are directed to Spectrum to secure internet All teachers have virtual office hours via ZOOM; some live instruction is also available through ZOOM.

Educational Instruction ? Educational Instruction is available through three formats:

Edgenuity, Canvas, Paper Packets ? Edgenuity- All students who were previously enrolled in an

Edgenuity class are to continue that class.

? Canvas- All classes will be available through the Canvas platform. Each teacher has uploaded course materials to this platform. Students can access Canvas through their VPortal. (Please see instructions on website for VPortal access and password reset)

? Packets- Students who do not have access to technology during this time can pick up packets of homework at their RMA campus between the hours of 8am and 1pm Monday through Friday.

ESE/ELL Students

ESE and ELL students will have all the same access to coursework as every other student.

ESE/ELL staff will set up remote push-in support through electronic delivery. Schedule to be developed the week of March 23-27th.

Edgenuity can be translated into multiple languages for ELL students

Edgenuity, being virtual instruction is self-paced and has guided lessons and note-taking capabilities for ESE students.
