Marywood String Celebration

On October 19th and 20th we had 15 students from grades 7-12 attend the String Celebration with students from 20 other schools from Pennsylvania and New York. The students rehearsed both days and had a wonderful concert Saturday evening. We received many compliments from event staff on how polite and engaged our students were, particularly notable in groups of 70-80 students. Standing out for such positivity is always notable! The students sounded great and had a wonderful time attending the festival.

Walk to End Alzheimer's

The Drumline, Majorettes and choir performed along the walk route at Citizens Bank Park. The walk participants were provided with an energetic performance as they made it to the finish line of the walk!

Mayfair Thanksgiving Parade

The Drumline and Majorettes performed in the Mayfair Thanksgiving Parade. The students put in countless hours to prepare for this parade. They definitely kept the crowd entertained the whole time!

Gertrude Hawk Fundraiser

Thank you to all of the families and friends of First Philadelphia that supported the Gertrude Hawk Fundraiser! You will receive an email with a times to pick up starting December 10th.

FALL 2018

Natalie Caguinguin and Kayleina McGonigal, 9th grade flute students made it into the All-City Band! They will be performing at the Kimmel Center in March.

Kaitlyn O'Brien, 12th grade Violist made it into District 12 Orchestra! She will be performing at Ridley High School in January.

Empty Bowls Dinner

The Art Department hosted their first Empty Bowls Night! The students made ceramic bowls in order to donate to the event. The art department partnered up with Maschio's and Angels in Motion to help bring attention to hunger awareness. All proceeds from the event went to Angels in Motion! Thank you everyone that attended the event and we can't wait to have this Empty Bowls Dinner again next year!
