Transportation in and around Boston

Transportation in and around BostonThis year’s BPE conference is taking place in the Columbia Point section of Boston, four miles south of downtown and home to the Massachusetts Archives, The Edward M. Kennedy Institute, The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and The University of Massachusetts, Boston. Boston’s public transportation system is comprehensive and easy to navigate. We highly recommend taking the subway, known as the “T,” throughout the city during the conference. You can also use the T to travel from Boston Logan Airport to either the Doubletree Club by Hilton Boston Bayside or to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, State Archives, Edward M. Kennedy Institute, or the State Library (located downtown). Please see below for instructions on taking the T or driving to these locations. Please note, though, that driving in Boston is notoriously challenging and we would advise against it if possible. If you’d like to explore Boston, we’ve also listed some routes to popular areas throughout the area. You can find a map of the T online that includes all station stops and transfer stations. You can also use the MBTA’s Trip Planner or Google Maps to create travel itineraries.
