The 7th grade is coming!5715009906000 … to BOSTON!Dear 7th Grade Students and Parents/Guardian:We are pleased to announce that we are once again planning a 7th grade trip to Boston. The dates for this year’s trip are April 19-20, 2018. Boston has played an enormous role in our country’s history. From the area’s settlement by the Pilgrims and Puritans, to the Sons of Liberty protests that helped spark the American Revolution, to the cries for the abolition of slavery that eventually led to the Civil War, Boston was at the center of many crucial events that shaped our nation. This trip will be an authentic, active learning experience that will reinforce and bring to life many 7th grade topics. The cost of the trip is $450. This includes coach bus, hotel, four meals, paid admission to three museums and historic sites, and licensed tour guides. On Tuesday, September 26th we will be holding a meeting for parents only of students who are interested in going on this trip. The meeting will take place at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. We will discuss the trip in detail, including the itinerary, accommodations, transportation, fundraising, payment plans, and the availability of scholarships for families experiencing financial hardships. Our tour consultant from EF Explore America will help explain this exciting trip and answer any questions you might have. Our preliminary Itinerary and tour information (including online enrollment) can be found on the back of this page.Trip enrollments will be accepted until October 31st, but we will be able to enroll your student the night of the meeting – just bring a $95 check or a credit/debit card as a deposit, as well as the signed student behavior contract sent home with this letter.Hope to see you at the meeting!Sincerely,Terrence Thompson, PrincipalJeff Place, Tour Leader"The mission of the Wappingers Central School District is to empower all of our students with the competencies and confidence to challenge themselves, to pursue their passions, and to realize their potential while growing as responsible members of their community.0-11430000Wappingers Jr. High School Historic Boston Tour Dates: April 19-20, 2018 Student Tour Fee: $450 Group Leader: Jeff Place jeffrey.place@ How to enrollOnline:Go to Enroll and enter our group’s tour number: 2020484BJ Phone:Call the EF Explore America Traveler Support Team at 1-888-333-9756Tour Itinerary347281514160500Day 1: Boston (leave WJHS at 6:30 am) - Arrive in Boston- Walking tour of Freedom Trail: Paul Revere House, Old North Church, Granary Burying Ground, etc.- USS Constitution - Bunker Hill Monument (climb it if you dare!)- Dinner money provided at Quincy Market- Boston Tea Party Ships and MuseumDay 2: Boston and Plymouth - Breakfast at hotel- Museum of Science - Lunch money provided- Travel to Plymouth- Plimoth Plantation - Depart for home - Dinner money provided- Arrive home at 9-10 pm ................
