3. SUBMITTALS

A. Product Data: Submit: Cabinet manufacturer’s product data and installation instructions.

B. Shop Drawings: Indicate sizes, materials, styles, colors, and hardware.

C. Samples: Submit [two] [________] samples each color of cabinet. Samples shall be 4 x 4 inches minimum.

4. DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Support unassembled components on continuous or closely-spaced flat surfaces to protect against sagging.

B. Protect against damage.

We use high quality HDPE that is specifically formulated for exterior and wet environments. Contact DeSavino to discuss your project’s special requirements.

A.

1. Water Absorption: 0.01 percent maximum, ASTM D570.

2. Tensile Strength (Yield): 3600 psi minimum, ASTM D638.

3. Durometer Hardness: Shore D 65 minimum, ASTM D2240.

4. Temperature Serviceability:

a. Upper Limit: 163 F deflection temperature at 66 psi, ASTM D648.

b. Lower Limit: -100 F brittleness temperature, ASTM D746.

5. Slow Burning: Passes UL 94, Classification HB.

6. Food Contact: Complies with FDA and USDA requirements for food contact.

7. UV Resistance: Stabilized against excessive polymer degradation and color change.

Anti-microbial treated HDPE is optional and at additional cost and lead time. Three stock colors are available for anti-microbial treated HDPE. Custom colors can be ordered with a minimum requirement of sheets to fulfill an order. Contact DeSavino and Sons for information.

3. HARDWARE

A. Hinges: Jako HBT Bi-dimensional hydraulic soft stop hinge, type 304 stainless steel.

B. Drawer Slides: Dynaslide, Type 304 stainless steel, ball bearing, full extension, load rated for 100 lbs. at 18 inches, release mechanism for disconnect, ball retainer detent for reinstall, and hold-in detent.

C. Adjustable Shelf Supports: Plastic with 5-mm diameter pin.

D. Base Cabinet Supports:

1. Adjustable Legs: Plastic legs that adjust from four to six inches in height. Legs shall have mounting plate for toe kick.

2. Casters on Mobile Cabinets: Type 304 stainless steel with swiveling 2.5-inch diameter resilient wheels. [Casters at front corners of cabinets shall have foot-operated brakes.]

E. Fasteners for Assembly of Cabinets:

1. Barrel and Bolt fasteners: Type 304 stainless steel.

2. Exposed heads shall be countersunk.

Fasteners for installation not provided by DeSavino and Sons.

1. Types: Dependent on substraight and material used for blocking.

4. FABRICATIONS

A. General:

1. Fabricate from HDPE sheets.

2. Assemble with dado and rabbet constructions.

3. Secure joints with fasteners.

4. Provide backs to cabinets.

5. Exposed Edges: Eased

6. Cabinets shall be free of damage and blemishes.

Removable toe kick can be specified in exterior locations to allow cleaning.

B.

1. Toe Kick: [Removable.] [Non-removable.] Provide [only on front] [On all sides] of cabinets.

2. Shelves: Provide holes in sides of cabinets for adjustable shelf supports. Provide shelf per base cabinet and two per wall cabinet [unless otherwise shown on Drawings].

G. Closures: Provide matching material to close blank areas [and as shown on Drawings].

EXECUTION

1. EXAMINATION

A. Verify that wall has adequate blocking to support wall-mounted units.

B. Do not begin cabinet installation before work that will be covered by cabinets is complete.

2. INSTALLATION

A. Install in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

B. Install plumb, level, and square with adjacent units butting tightly.

C. Secure cabinets to adjacent cabinets and/or to adjacent construction.

D. Scribe edges to fit closely to walls.

E. Adjust hardware for smooth operation.

F. Protect surfaces against damage until final closeout.

3. CLOSE-OUT

A. Immediately before substantial completion, remove protective materials, and clean surfaces in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
