Eagle Ranch School focuses on identifying and developing each child's God-given gifts. In many cases, our students are able to experience academic success and confidence for the first time. Our Houseparents provide a caring and supportive environment for our children to work through their difficulties. 24/7 careFood/lodgingA stable, nurturing environmentCare coordinationPhysical fitness and social activitiesPressing Need #2 – Specific Needs ListThe following specific needs have been identified as funding priorities at Eagle Ranch:Gift Cards (any amount)Walmart, Target, restaurant, entertainment and attraction venues, gas, and general-purpose Visa gift cards are always appreciated, especially during the summer months when there is more free time for Houseparents to spend with the children doing special puter Cases for Students ($1,000)Our students will be taking chromebooks home during their digital learning days.?We would like to purchase chromebook cases that will hold a chromebook and charger to protect them during transport.? Teacher Appreciation Week Activities and Gifts ($1,000)Every May, the Ranch recognizes our hard-working teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week with a special lunch and gifts. These funds would be used to underwrite this annual celebration.Purchase of School Library Materials ($1,500)These funds will be used to purchase library books and supplies and to underwrite the annual cost of our library software.Printing of Annual School Yearbook ($2,000)All students in our on-campus school receive a printed yearbook and video with school year memories. These funds will cover the cost of the yearbook to be distributed at the end of the school year.Outdoor Power Equipment ($2,000)To help our children learn valuable life skills, we teach them to use basic power equipment to maintain the yards around the homes where they live. We have old blowers, weed eaters, and mowers that need to be replaced.Purchase of School Supplies ($2,000)Our SACS accredited, on-campus school serves all Eagle Ranch children in grades 6-9. These funds would be used to purchase student planners and other school supplies for our students. Eagle Ranch School "Finish Strong" Campaign ($2,500)In recognition of the hard work of our childcare staff, we provide celebration meals and "date nights" for our counselors, houseparents, and program assistants towards the end of the school year. Not only do they feel appreciated by these special events, but these times of renewal provide a much-needed break and recharge to encourage our team to "finish strong."Children's Seasonal Athletic Activities ($4,000)As part of our commitment to the holistic development of our boys and girls - spiritually, emotionally, academically, socially, and physically - the Ranch children participate in many physical activities. Two annual favorites are the Tri-Kids triathlon and our basketball league. These funds would be used to purchase t-shirts, supplies, and awards and host a celebration for all participants at the end of the season.Wireless Access Points in our School and Administration Facilies ($7,500)Our IT provider recently completed an assessment of our wireless needs. It was recommended that we replace our outdated?Wireless Access Point (WAP)?system with four units in our administration building and eight in our school.? The estimated cost is $600 per unit.? Twelve units would cost us $7,200 including installation. This should improve greatly our access to our network and internet allowing our staff to complete work in a timely and uninterupted manner. Pool Repairs ($7,800) Our Junior Olympic sized swimming pool is one of the most popular facilities on the Ranch. The pool has developed a crack in the center area approximately 4’x4’. We will ?need to drain it to make the repair. ?While the pool is empty it needs to be pressure washed and acid cleaned it to remove black algae that has acclumulated in the area this summer. All nine under water lights are out and need to be replaced while the pool is empty. This is a big safety issue when the children are swimming in the evenings. After the work is completed we will refill and balance all chemicals.?Best Notes Counseling Software Subscription ($8,000)Eagle Ranch uses Best Notes, an electronic health record database system, to securely store and update the state-required records of our boys and girls. Best Notes greatly increases our childcare staff's efficiency as they are able to access up-to-date information on each child. These funds will cover the annual subscription cost for this software.Replace Computers in Business Office ($9,000)Due to age and heavy usage, we plan to replace four computers currently used by administrative/counseling support staff. In addition we will need to purchase a computer and software for the new Executive Director once he/she is onboard. Air Purification Systems for Children's Homes ($12,000)Installing air purification systems in each of our ten children's homes will improve air quality and promote a healthy living environment for all our boys and girls as well as our houseparents and their children. The total cost is $14,000.
