BCPS CloudBCPS Cloud is a great resource you can use to access most things school-related. To access it please visit cloud. (no www). You will be prompted to log in. Your login information is the same as the information you use to log into a school computer. Please see an explanation of all of its features below. GmailAll BCHS students have been given their own email account. Your email account is simply your computer login name @. To access your account, simply click on the “Gmail” icon that appears once you have logged into BCPS Cloud. You can use this account to email anyone with a school account; however, you will not be able to email anyone without a Byron Center Gmail account. You should check this account about once a week for announcements from the school. It will be used from time to time for survey purposes and announcements. My FilesAnything that you save to your school account can be accessed from BCPS Cloud. To access a document, simply click on the “My Files” icon that appears once you have logged into BCPS Cloud. From here, you will almost always want to select the Home or H: drive. This will then allow you to open any of the documents that you saved at school. You can then double click on the item you would like to complete, and it should open. Once it has opened, be sure to correctly save your document (you will want to go to Save As and save it to an appropriate file on your home computer). BCPS Cloud will not automatically save a document back to your school account. If you would like to save a document to your school account, you will need to upload it. For the most part, the procedure is the same as opening a file. First, you will need to click on the “My Files” icon. Next, you will select the Home or H:drive. You will notice an “Upload” button in the upper right hand corner. Under the word “Upload” you will notice it says “Drag and Drop Files Here,” so you will obviously want to drag and drop them there. You’ll notice a progress bar will appear to indicate that it is uploading them. Google DocumentsGoogle Documents is a great tool to use if you do not have Microsoft Office or if you are collaborating with class members on an assignment. You will notice that the set up and the documents look quite similar to Microsoft Office documents. To access this, simply click on the “Google Docs” icon on BCPS cloud. This will take you to a list of all documents you have created (as well as those that have been shared with you). Simply click on the document to begin working. A nice feature of Google Docs is that it automatically saves for you every couple minutes. ................
