Emergency Substitute Teacher Applicants
You will need to meet the following requirements to be considered for a Emergency Substitute teaching position with
Pasco School District:
❑ BA degree or higher
❑ Have completed or are enrolled in educational/instructional courses.
❑ References of individuals who have observed you an in instructional setting.
Step 1: Please visit the ESD 123 office located at 3819 W. Court St. Pasco. You will need to request a District Request For Emergency Substitute Certificate Form.
The form is also available online at k12.wa.us
a) Go to the Certification tab
b) Click on Teacher Certification
c) Click on: If you are looking to BECOME certified as a Teacher in Washington State and one or more of the following applies…
d) Click on Limited Teaching Certificate
e) Scroll down the page to find the Emergency substitute certificate option and click on the Download: Application. Print out the entire pdf. file.
Step 2:
a) Pick up a certificated application from the P.S.D front desk receptionist. The certificated application is also available on our website at . You may access it by clicking on the Employment tab. Then on the Employment Applications link.
b) Complete the certificated application and substitute information sheet provided with these directions.
FILL OUT THE P.S.D CERTIFICATED APPLICATION AND THE E.S.D DISTRICT REQUEST FOR EMERGENCY SUBSTITUTE CERTIFICATE
Step 3:
a) Complete Section A of the District Request Form (last page of the ESD application) with your personal information.
b) Section B is to be filled out by the Director of Human Resources at the P.S.D administration office. Place the District Request Form INSIDE the P.S.D certificated application and submit to the Human Resources office.
• Once your application has been processed, the references that you listed and possibly others will be contacted. Upon approval of the initial screening, the Human Resources Dept. will contact to set up an interview.
• If approved, Section B of the district request form will be signed and you will then need to take the form back to the ESD123 office. They will process the application. The emergency permit will be issued by the ESD.
• Please provide a copy of the emergency substitute permit to the P.S.D Human Resources office to complete the application process.
Already have a Teaching Certificate or Permit?
If you already have a permit or current teaching certificate, please complete the P.S.D certificated application and substitute information sheet. Submit it directly to the Human Resources Department.
