In this 9 min 47 sec video, Sean Hannity and Fred Thompson address the abortion issue

beginning at approx. 5 min 28 sec into the video segment, including this Fred Thompson

quote at the end of the abortion topic discussion with Sean Hannity, at about 6 min 20 sec:

"I would not be and never have been for a law that says, on the state level,

to criminalize a young woman, ..."

[emphasis added]

This 9 min 47 sec video also deals with Iran; Scooter Libby (CFR-member Fred Thompson

is a member of the [CFR-member Lewis "Scooter"] Libby Legal Defense Trust); and the [unconstitutional, CFR-member John McCain--] McCain-Feingold so-called "campaign

finance reform" First Amendment free-speech-censorship legislation, that Washington Establishment insider Fred Thompson co-sponsored and voted to pass when he was

a US Senator (see more details below); and former Senator Fred Thompson's split vote on

the Clinton Impeachment trial in the US Senate (Thompson voted to convict CFR-member

Bill Clinton on Obstruction of Justice, but Thompson voted Clinton not guilty on Perjury).

THOMPSON'S CHOICE

Fred Thompson came close to alarming his pro-life constituency for his prospective

Republican presidential candidacy on Fox's "Hannity & Colmes" program Tuesday

when he expressed doubts about "criminalizing" abortion.

After asserting he "always thought Roe v. Wade was a wrong decision," the actor-politician

said: "I would not be and never have been for a law that says, on the state level, if I were

back in Tennessee voting on this, for example, that, if they chose to criminalize a young woman, and ." Co-host Sean Hannity then interrupted: "So, states rights for you?" Thompson

replied: "Essentially, federalism. It's in the Constitution."

Although Thompson in his first Senate campaign in 1994 said the decision to have an

abortion "must be made by the woman," he built a solid pro-life voting record during eight

Senate years that has generated presidential support for him among social conservatives.

Columbia Christians for Life comments:

Robert Novak is wrong when he writes (above) that Fred Thompson "built a solid pro-life voting

record during eight Senate years..." This is a false statement when the Bible is the standard.

For the compromising, abortion-regulation incrementalists like National Right to Life and

Southern Baptist leader, fellow CFR-member Dr. Richard Land (Fred Thompson is also

a CFR-member) type of so-called "social conservatives," they may find that Fred Thompson

fits their unbiblical, unconstitutional definition of what it means to be "pro-life."

However, while Fred Thompson was a US Senator, he voted for HHS Appropriations

that funded Planned Parenthood, and funded selected surgical abortions via Medicaid,

and funded chemically abortifacient birth control, and funded birth control for unmarried teenagers to fornicate, even if their parents objected (Title X program).

For example, Fred Thompson voted for passage of the HHS Appropriations bill for FY 2002,

funding Planned Parenthood, selected surgical abortions, chemical abortions, and

birth control for unmarried teenagers, even if their parents object, on December 20, 2001

(see H.R. 3061, 2001-2002, 107th Congress, at ). The former Tennessee

US Senator's vote supporting passage of H.R. 3061, "Thompson (R-TN), Yea" is recorded at:

Should Fred Thompson enter the 2008 presidential race, he would become the fifth member
