Saratoga County Recycling Information Line

WHEN YOU RECYCLE, IT IS IMPORTANT TO DO IT RIGHT!

junk mail, office paper, corrugated cardboard, paperback books. All paper products should be dry and clean. 2. Accepted--glass bottles, and jars (clear and colored). Rinsed clean and lids put in with recyclables also. 3. Accepted--Plastics that have the triangle with numbers 1 thru 7 only. No Styrofoam products, at all, please. 4. Accepted--Tin, steel, and aluminum cans. Should be rinsed free of residue with lids put in with recyclables. 5. Accepted--Large appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, and dryers. Should have all material removed from the inside, including any glass shelves. 6. SEE OPPOSITE SIDE FOR MORE DETAILS.

When in doubt, ask the attendant at the Center, or call our toll-free hotline on the front of this brochure.

PLEASE DON'T CONTAMINATE THE RECYCLING PROCESS!

The recycling process can be easily contaminated by throwing regular garbage in with the recyclables. The Recycling Program is actually a business providing raw material to manufacturers of new products. The manufacturers expect the material to be pure. When they reject a load of material, it is because of contamination.
