Then spread peanut butter or sun butter on top and place red, yellow, and green colored m&ms down the center.-Apple/Cheese Boats:Cut up a few apple slices and balance on the peel side on a plate. Press cheese triangles onto toothpicks and stick into the apple slices for a sail.-Banana Plane w/Marshmallow Clouds:Start with a banana sliced in half the long way and place on a plate. ?Add small banana slices for wings and an apple wedge for the tail. ?Use Cheerios for windows and marshmallows for clouds.-Graham Cracker Build a Train:Start with 2 graham cracker rectangles, and a square for the main body of the train.? Add Wheat Chex for the smoke stack and window. Add vanilla wafer cookies for wheels, mini marshmallows for smoke, and pretzels for tracks. Ask your child which snack they liked best and why.-Sensory, Early LiteracyToilet Paper Roll Cars-Cut a U shape in the cardboard tube to make the opening for toys to sit in the car. Fold the U up and cut it again to make it smaller.-Paint the toilet paper tube white and set it out to dry.-Let your child decorate their cars with markers, stickers, paint, etc.-Hot glue four pouch caps on as the wheels or use a black marker to draw the wheels on the tube.-ArtIce Boats-Fill an empty ice tray with water and add a few drops of blue food coloring to each of the spaces filled with water.-Use a popsicle stick to mix and blend the water and food coloring.-Cover the entire ice tray with aluminum foil and then poke a hole in the aluminum foil in each space using a popsicle stick.-Make sure that each cube has a popsicle stick in it and then place in the freezer.-While the ice cubes form, have your child decorate a white piece of paper using crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.-Next, cut out small triangles as the sails for the boats (make sure to cut enough triangles so that each popsicle stick in the ice tray has a sail).-Once the water in the ice tray has frozen, remove the aluminum foil and attach the sails with tape.-Fill a large bin about half way up with water and then add the ice boats.-Encourage your child to observe the water changing color and observe what happens to the ice cubes after playing for a while.-Art, Science, SensoryColor Matching Train-Use the link below to print the front of the train and have your child color it using paint, markers, crayons, etc.-Next, use black construction paper to cut out two circles (about the size of a golf ball) for each colored piece of construction paper and attach them using glue or tape. Talk about how predictions are not always correct and that is okay. -ScienceFlying into Letters-First, have your child decorate a piece of paper using markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc.-Next, create a paper plane out of the decorated paper by following these steps:1. Start by folding the paper in half the long way.2. Fold a corner into the middle of the paper. The edge should line up along the center crease.3. Repeat Step #2 on the other side.4. Fold the folded edge in again to the center crease.5. Repeat on the other side.6. Pick up the plane and fold it in half along the center crease. The folded edges should be on the inside of the plane.7. Make a wing by folding down one of the flaps.8. Repeat on the other side to make another wing.9. Secure the plane together with a small piece of tape on the top. 10.
