We are three churches with one common mission,

“to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

Preparing Our Hearts for Worship - Welcome to the Philipsburg Grace/Morgan Run Parish. We are blessed to have you in worship with us today!

If you know of anyone whom Pastor Michelle needs to visit in the next week, please let her know.

Prelude - The acolyte lights the candles to represent the power of the Holy Spirit and the light of Christ in our worship. Please use this time to center your hearts and minds on God.

Pastoral Greeting

Opening - Praise God as the Community of Faith

Call to Worship

One: Christ has broken down the wall

All: The wall that divides

One: The wall between Jew and Greek

All: The wall upheld by hostility

One: Let us not rebuild what Christ has broken down

All: Amen and amen!

Opening Hymn “Open My Eyes, That I May See”

1. Open my eyes, that I may see

glimpses of truth thou hast for me;

place in my hands the wonderful key

that shall unclasp and set me free.

Silently now I wait for thee,

ready, my God, thy will to see.

Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!

2. Open my ears, that I may hear

voices of truth thou sendest clear;

and while the wavenotes fall on my ear,

everything false will disappear.

Silently now I wait for thee,

ready, my God, thy will to see.

Open my ears, illumine me, Spirit divine!

3. Open my mouth, and let me bear

gladly the warm truth everywhere;

open my heart and let me prepare

love with thy children thus to share.

Silently now I wait for thee,

ready, my God, thy will to see.

Open my heart, illumine me, Spirit divine!

Opening Prayer

Special Music (Grace)

Prayer of Confession

All: O God, we confess that we cling to who we were before we came to know of your love and grace. We keep up the divisions of old, looking for them to define us, not our relationship to you. We look to the world to label whom we belong with, when you invite us into a new relationship with you and with your people. Forgive us, O Lord. Enable us to set aside the ways of the past and step fully into our identity in you. Amen.

One: Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ you are forgiven.

All: In the name of Jesus Christ you are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

Affirmation of Faith

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty,

maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, dead, and buried;

the third day he rose from the dead;

he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at

the right hand of God the Father, Almighty;

from thence he shall come to judge

the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic church, the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen.

Proclamation and Response

Children’s Message

Scripture Reading Eph 2: 11-22

One: The Word of God for the people of God.

All: Praise be to God.

Gloria

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

and to the Holy Ghost;

as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,

world without end. Amen. Amen.

Sermon “Letter to the Ephesians: Christ Has Broken Down the Wall”

Response to the Word

Time of Prayer and Lord’s Prayer – Silent Meditation and Corporate Prayers

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done

on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power,

and the glory forever. Amen.

Offering

Doxology

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;

Praise God, all creatures here below: Alleluia! Alleluia!

Praise God, the source of all our gifts!

Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts!

Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Communal Offertory Prayer

God of Abundance, take what we present to you this day and multiply it, not for our sake, but for your glory. Use what we have, all for your name! Amen.

Being Sent Forth into the Mission Field

I can hear my Savior calling,

I can hear my Savior calling,

"Take thy cross and follow, follow me."

Where he leads me I will follow,

where he leads me I will follow,

where he leads me I will follow;

I'll go with him, with him all the way.

2. I'll go with him through the garden,

I'll go with him through the garden,

I'll go with him through the garden,

I'll go with him, with him all the way.

(Refrain)

3. I'll go with him through the judgment,

I'll go with him through the judgment,

I'll go with him through the judgment,

I'll go with him, with him all the way.

(Refrain)

4. He will give me grace and glory,

he will give me grace and glory,

he will give me grace and glory,

and go with me, with me all the way.

(Refrain)
