Adventist Youth Charge: Spring Village S

Adventist Youth Charge: Spring Village S.D.A. Church, Sabbath January 6, 2001

Adventist Youth Song:

“We are a mighty army, ready to do and dare, we have a hope within us, a faith to live and share, forward we march together, with Christ we have no fear, let us carry high His banner, Seventh-day Adventist Youth, forward march, onward march, unto victory for our King!”

(NOTE: Distribute all scripture / have readers ready!)

1. We are a mighty army: The only might we can have is in the strength of the God! (David/Goliath , Johnathan /Armor-bearer “..whole armor..” )

2. Ready to do and dare: We can only be ready to do and dare if we know Jesus Christ and depend on Him totally! (Phil. 4:13 & Gal. 2:20)

3. We have a hope within us: What is this hope that we are supposed to have within us? It is the hope of the coming of our Lord! (1 Thess. 4:16,17 & 1 Cor. 15: ). Do we really have this hope? Do we really want our Lord to come? Are we ready for Him to come? Are we telling others that He will soon come?

4. A faith to live and share: What is this faith that we must live and share? It is a special message (Rev. 19:10

) If we don’t live this faith, we really can’t share it!

5. Forward we march together: In other words, we are a team; we must be truly united, as one whole; we must have the gift of the Holy Ghost, as it was on the day of Pentecost. This comes through fasting, prayer, studying the word of God and waiting on His will

(Acts 2: ). So, when the leaders say we are having prayer, fasting, training to do witnessing activities (bible studies, etc.), reading from the bible and the writings of Ellen G. White, we must obey for we are marching together.

6. With Christ we have no fear: We need not fear, Christ is already the victor! We – are – on – the – winning – side!

Jesus will protect us in the fight once we are on His side! (One angel/Sennacherib’s army , story of the baby that stopped in mid-air!). We serve a mighty God! We need have no fear!

7. Let us carry high His banner: If we truly realize that Jesus is with us and He has already won we will carry His banner/represent Him truly to the world (others around us). We can’t follow every thing others do / that we see or hear (eg. meaning of: ankle-chain, wearing pants “dropping off”, etc.)

8. Seventh-day Adventist Youth: We must know what our name means. Our name is significant and it tells us that we are peculiar. We must know the message of the Seventh-day Sabbath and of the Second Advent (Do we know when Jesus will come? Why He will come? Where He will come from? What will happen when He comes? What are the signs of His Second Coming? and, how can we know it is near? Why hasn’t He come already? Etc.) We must know what we believe; we must be able to defend our faith.

9. Forward March, onward March: We must keep going forward; there must be no looking back – don’t even think about it! That’s what the devil wants! Don’t ever get discouraged! Winston Churchill’s famous speech: “Never give up!, Never give up! Never, never, never, never, never!” If we look back we will be declared unfit for the Kingdom! (Text/s: )

10. Unto victory for our King!: As we already said, we are on the winning side, Jesus already won the battle! So, I put it to you that the victory that we must win for our King is the victory over self. That is the ultimate victory! It is the real victory! For without that we can’t really win! The good news is that Jesus also overcame self – right on the cross! (Text/s: )
