3 BIG FISH (loudly): SPLISH! SPLASH!! SPLOSH!!!

Narrator 1 In the deep blue sea there are three big fish.

Narrator 2 One is yellow, one is purple, and one is black.

Narrator 3 They’re big, bad fish… and they’re hungry!

Narrator 4 The three big fish swim to a big white rock.

Narrator 1 Behind the white rock there are four small fish.

Narrator 2 They’re orange and white.

Narrator 3 They’re happy. The sea is calm and they’re playing.

4 SMALL FISH (quietly) PLISH PLISH, PLISH PLISH

3 BIG FISH (loudly): SPLISH! SPLASH!! SPLOSH!!!

Narrator 4 The big fish are near the white rock.

4 SMALL FISH ‘Oh no!’

‘The big fish are coming!’

Narrator 2 But the big, bad fish go away.

Narrator 3 They swim to a grey rock. They stop.

BIG FISH 1 ‘Look! What is it?’

BIG FISH 2 ‘Is it a fish? Is it a tree? Is it a fish-tree?’

BIG FISH 3 ‘No... it’s a flower!’

BIG FISH 1 ‘It’s all green! It’s an ugly flower!’

BIG FISH 2 ‘It’s a very ugly flower!’

BIG FISH 3 ‘It’s a horrible flower!’ ‘It’s sleeping!’

Narrator 4 The black fish swims near the flower.

Narrator 1 But the flower isn’t sleeping. It’s angry.

GRACE GREEN ‘I’m not ugly, I’m not horrible!’

Narrator 2 It opens its eyes, it opens its arms and… WHAM!

GRACE GREEN ‘I’ve got you , stupid fish!’

BIG FISH 3 ‘Help! I can’t move!’

‘You’re an ugly, horrible flower! Help!’

Narrator 3 The yellow fish and the purple fish swim to the flower. They swim very fast.

Narrator 4 They’ve got an idea.

BIG FISH 1 ‘I push his head, you pull his tail!’

BIG FISH 2 ‘OK!’ ‘Ready, steady, go!’

BIG FISH 1 &2 ‘Push the head, pull the tail,

Push and pull, push and pull,

Push the head, pull the tail.’

Narrator 1 POP!

Narrator 2 The black fish is free!

Narrator 3 The three fish swim away together.

3 BIG FISH (loudly): SPLISH! SPLASH!! SPLOSH!!!

Narrator 4 The deep blue sea is calm now.

Narrator 1 The green flower isn’t angry.

Narrator 2 Its long arms dance in the water, up and down and all around.

Narrator 3 It looks like a dancer, a beautiful dancer.

4 SMALL FISH (quietly) PLISH PLISH, PLISH PLISH

Narrator 4 The small fish are coming.

Narrator 1 They swim slowly to the green flower. They stop.

SMALL FISH 1 ‘Look! She’s wonderful!’

SMALL FISH 2 ‘Wow! Is she a dancer?

SMALL FISH 3 Is she a princess?

SMALL FISH 4 Is she a sea-princess?’

4 SMALL FISH (quietly) ‘Who are you?’ they ask.

GRACE GREEN ‘I’m Grace Green,’

4 SMALL FISH ‘Hello, Miss Grace Green! ‘What a lot of beautiful green arms you’ve got!’

GRACE GREEN ‘Can you count how many arms I’ve got?’

4 SMALL FISH ‘Oh yes! One, two, three, four… and a lot more!’

Narrator 2 The green flower smiles.

GRACE GREEN ‘You’re funny. Who are you?’

4 SMALL FISH ‘We’re the Clown Brothers!’

GRACE GREEN ‘Sorry?’

4 SMALL FISH ‘We’re the Clown Brothers!’

GRACE GREEN ‘Oh, you’re brothers!’

4 SMALL FISH ‘Yes! We’re brothers. And we’re clowns, too!’

Narrator 3 Then they sing.

4 SMALL FISH ‘We are clowns, we are brothers,

We are the champions, we are the best!’

GRACE GREEN ‘Sorry?’

4 SMALL FISH ‘We are the champions,

We can make a square,

Swimming here and there!

We can make a circle,

We can make a heart,

Now it’s time for us to start!’

4 SMALL FISH (quietly) PLISH PLISH, PLISH PLISH

Narrator 4 The Clown Brothers swim here and there.

Narrator 1 They make a square, they make a circle.

Narrator 2 They go very near the green flower and they make a wonderful heart.

Narrator 3 Miss Grace Green smiles, and she touches the Clown Brothers with her long arms.

GRACE GREEN ‘You’re the champions! You’re very good champions!’

4 SMALL FISH ‘Yes, we’re champions, but we’re afraid.’

GRACE GREEN ‘Sorry?’

4 SMALL FISH ‘We’re afraid of the big, bad fish!’

GRACE GREEN ‘Oh, there aren’t any big, bad fish here. They are afraid of me!’

Look! My arms are long, my arms are strong. My arms are strong for you and me.’

4 SMALL FISH ‘Really?’

GRACE GREEN ‘Oh yes! You can stay here and play. The big bad fish are far away, and the sea is calm.’

Narrator 4 The Clown Brothers stay.

Narrator 1 They play their games.

Narrator 2 The clown fish swim up and down and all around the green flower.

Narrator 3 They’re happy, and Miss Grace Green is happy!

Narrator 4 They’re very good friends.

4 Narrators And when the big, bad fish come, they stay very near Miss Grace Green and sing together.

4 SMALL FISH ‘Oh, big fish, can’t you see?

We’re the champions, we are strong!

We’re the best in the deep blue sea!

We’re all for one and one for all!’
