Hi, my name’s Lisa and I live with my family in the country. My parents are vets and they take care of all the sick farm animals and pets in the area where we live.

I have got one sister, Susan, and a brother, Tom. They are younger than me. Susan is 6 and Tom is 11. I am 13.

We have got several pets. Jimmy is my parrot and Cleopatra is my mum’s snake. My sister’s pet is a cat, called Rufo. My brother has got a dog whose name is Toby.

Dad has got a clown fish. He bought it two years ago and called him Nemo.

We all love animals and life wouldn’t be the same without them.

At the moment I’m teaching Jimmy to speak. He has learnt his first words. Now he can say “hello”, “goodbye” and my name. I love teaching him, it’s amazing how fast he learns.

Cleopatra is a very quiet pet. She loves coiling around my neck. When mum bought her, Susan was a bit scared of her but now she gets on with her very well.

Toby is my brother’s best friend. They go out for a walk every day. My brother says he is the best companion because he always listens to you and never lets you down.

Rufo is about one year old. We found him in the forest near our house when he was only a kitten. Susan took him in her arms and we all knew he was going to be her pet.

Mum and dad have always loved animals and that’s why they decided to become vets. They really enjoy their job and we are lucky to be their children.

By the way, where is dad? Oh, look! He is in the garden. A goat is chasing him!
