With that we have the World Service Conference coming up Sunday, April 26 through Saturday, May 2 2020. I’ll be flying out April 24 and getting back May 3. ?Members can download the CAR for free from conference? The CAR survey is posted online at conference to fill out before April 1 2020. This is the 3rd time we well include a survey in the CAR (Conference Agenda Report) to help set priorities for recovery literature, Service Material, and Issue Discussion Topics (IDT’s). the responses to this survey will frame delegates discussions and inform their decisions at the WSC.?Power Point presentations and videos of the content on conference to help members put on or prepare for the CAR workshop.?Local Service Toolbox toolbox has published CBDM Basics and Serving NA in Rural and Isolated Communities and is currently at work on GSR Basics.?Another project that will carry over to the next cycle is the Spiritual Principle a Day Book (SPAD) Project. The second batch of review drafts are ready. This batch contains 45 entries to eight principles, along with a draft of the preface that includes our list of spiritual principles. The landing page at spad also links to everything you need for review and input (R&I). Provide input by March 1st 2020.?Another piece of literature we’ve talked about a lot this cycle is a potential piece of literature related to Drug Replacement Therapy (DRT) and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) as it relates to NA. It was intended that the input to this IDT would help shape the project plan called for in Motion 9, and this has been partially successful. We’ve received a lot of ideas about how we can better welcome members and potential members, and it’s notable that these ideas are consistent no matter where the workshops were held. The main ideas shared are:-Welcome addicts attending NA while on DRT/MAT. They are still NA members and should be treated like any other member.-Connect members on DRT/MAT with others who had the same experience and achieved abstinence.-Consider developing consistent language in the form of a statement that can be included in meeting formats. What we have not heard is input that helps us frame a piece of Fellowship-approved literature about this issue. Unless the Conference cycle that seeks to gather the needed input.?We go to great lengths to make information available and accessible. This cycle we had a web meetings for Conference participants every other month, and we hold regular web meetings on PR, inmate step writing, H&I, phonelines, zonal FD and PR, and serving in rural and isolated communities. All of our projects utilize web meetings either for workgroup members to meet or, in the case of the toolbox projects, for interested members to work together to develop materials. This cycle we also had a web meeting open to all interested members to begin collecting best practices of online meetings. Notes from the web meeting are posted in the Miscellaneous section of the Conference web page: conference . Online meetings have made the NA program accessible to some addicts who might otherwise struggle to get to meetings. While some of our members have years of experience, many of us are relatively new to meeting virtually, and it was really helpful to hear about what’s working well and how online meetings deal with literature availability and the Seventh Tradition. This topic was prioritized for discussion at the last Conference, and we plan to hold another such web meeting after WSC.?For more information on the work of World Services, see the NAWS Annual Report posted at ar, NAWS News at nawsnews, and the Conference Report, which will be published shortly before the WSC and posted on the Conference page at conference. If you’re interested in keeping up with NAWS’ activities, and you don’t have a subscription already, you can get an electronic subscription to NAWS News, NAWS email updates, and other periodicals here subscribe. Always willing,RDA, Shawn O. sporre47@ 212-684-0899Activities ReportHey guys,We want to thank everyone for the support in planning Spiritual Refreshment 2020. Since we started meeting as a committee (just about a month ago) we have raised just under 2,000$ for this event, the total balance in our account as of Feb 1 is $2,197.97, we started just over $200. The fundraiser was a big help in this and we thank those that showed up to this event. This would not have been possible without the addicts that came together in support this month to assist. Because of what we were able to raise we do not need anything from the regional body. We did fill all positions and are getting ready to do an inventory of the stuff. We have picked a theme and are working on having merchandise ready for MNNAC and WSC. If there are any questions or concerns please let me know.If you hear anyone interested in becoming the next regional activities chair please have them reach out to me directly.
