|Review: Simple Past |Students are asked to write a number of verbs on a sheet. |8 min |

| |Students work in pairs. The first student says one verb; then, the other uses it to make a | |

| |sentence in the past tense. They continue until both lists have been completed. | |

| |Note: Higher level classes can be asked to use the words to create a story. | |

|Review: |Taboo: divide students into teams. One student from each team comes to the front of the |7 min |

|Holiday Lexis |class. The students are shown a flash card, or the word, and they describe it to the rest of | |

| |the class. The first team to answer earns a point. | |

|Present Lexis: |Use the flashcards to present weather lexis. |15 min |

|Weather |Drill pronunciation as a group, and individually. | |

| |‘It’s snowing.’ | |

| |Put the phrases on the board (elicit spelling). | |

| |Note: Put the phrases under headings of good / bad. Elicit the placement of the phrases from | |

| |the students. | |

|Pre-Listening |Students will hear weather reports from five different cities. |3 min |

|Prediction |Students work in pairs predicting which cities have had good or bad weather. | |

| |Note: They could place the cities on a cline, rather than in a list. | |
