Asbestos contaminated demolition project

NOTICE OF LETTING

The City of Ottumwa, IA will accept sealed bids until 2:00 P. M. on October 26, 2021 for the demolition, clean up and disposal of asbestos contaminated structure and debris of the following structure located within the City of Ottumwa, IA:

Location Address: 308 W. Sixth Street, Ottumwa, Iowa

NOTE: All removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials must comply with all existing Iowa Department of Natural Resources and U. S. Environmental Protection Agency guidelines and regulations. Due to this structure and debris being declared asbestos contaminated only licensed asbestos contractors will be permitted to submit bids.

Proposals must be addressed to: City Clerk, 105 East Third Street, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501 and plainly marked: 308 W. Sixth Street Project ? October 26, 2021. Bids will be opened at this time and a bid report and recommendation will be taken to the November 2, 2021 City Council meeting. The request for proposal and contract conditions may be obtained from the Building and Code Enforcement Department, Room 204, City Hall, 105 East Third Street, Ottumwa, IA 52501 or online at

Bid security deposit required. (See bid form). A 100% performance bond or irrevocable letter of credit stating the total cost of the project bid is required from the successful bidder on all removal projects.
