1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field experience? The S.E.R.V.E. organization which was started by students here at Tapp Middle School seeks to serve others in our school and community on a daily basis. They volunteer with the town of Powder Springs, with the local food pantry, and even here in the school. The goal is to serve the community by competing at minimum, 600 hours of community service. Their desire is to include all students, staff, parents, and as many community stakeholders as possible in accomplishing this goal. In an effort to add them in the quest to extend their reach further into the community and manage some of the tasks that have overwhelmed them, I designed and built a website and Microsoft form for them to utilize to document volunteer service hours. The second extension of this experience was to introduce and begin training staff on how to utilize their website for the operation of the organization. This phase continued to build upon the knowledge that I had previously gained when working with my peers in the coaching capacity. I do have to make sure that I adequately train them in all the components of the website construction so that this will be an option for them to utilize in their classroom instruction in the future.

Knowledge ? I had to build a greater knowledge of the application which came through continued interaction with it on a daily basis.

Skills ? This opportunity allowed me to practice my coaching skills to encourage others to interact with the application even if they do not use it on a daily basis. I learned how to access ready-made tutorials that would be used to help coworkers understand how to use the application.

Dispositions ? At the conclusion of this experience, I was more confident that I can learn how to use an application on a greater level while working with other whose knowledge of the software may be limited to an entry level at best. It encouraged me to continue utilizing Microsoft products with my peers whereas the difficulties that I had experienced previously would have caused me to avoid its usage previously.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed? Because this is the software of choice that the district is using, several staff members were needing daily help with understanding how to use it. We have Technology Coaches at the district level but when you access their assistance via Skype or email, there may be a delay.
