Boys Town Nevada Celebrates 10th Annual Journey of Hope For Immediate Release -Tuesday, May 27, 2014Las Vegas, Nev. – Over 350 community members are expected to come together to support children and families at Boys Town Nevada’s 10th Annual Journey of Hope Gala on Thursday, May 29, 2014. The gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. at The Venetian Resort, Hotel and Casino, 3355 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, Nev. 89109 and last until 10:00 p.m.Guests are invited to bid on an assortment of auction items and enter to win extravagant raffle prizes. Dinner and cocktails will be served and the rockin’ entertainment for the evening includes: Paul Shortino from “Raiding the Rock Vault” and Bella Electric Strings. The evening will culminate in the drawing of one of five raffle prizes to include a brand new Audi and Camaro, a trip to Europe , a California beach condo and $1,000 cash followed by music and dancing from the Skye Dee Miles Band. “We are grateful to our donors, especially Norm and Sharon Jenkins, this year’s Hope Award recipients, whose generosity and support has allowed our youth to reach their fullest potential,” said Boys Town Nevada Executive Director, Howard Olshansky. The highlight of the evening is sure to be a speech from former Boys Town Nevada youth, Davis Caron. Caron was reunited with his brothers when he arrived at Boys Town Nevada. The three siblings had been in separate foster care placements until 2002 when Boys Nevada adjusted their licenses to allow the brothers to stay together at Boys Town. Caron flourished in the Family Home program. He excelled at school and maintained his status on the honor roll and frequently earned 4.0’s, and thanks to board members he was able to participate in an educational trip to Europe. Since graduating from Boys Town Nevada in 2011, Caron has rebuilt his relationship with his father and is now a student at Louisiana Tech University where he is majoring in business and finance.
