Welcome to Scranton Cyber Academy! We are pleased to offer this program alongside Penn Foster. This program will allow you to continue with your schooling in a nontraditional format while still allowing you to graduate with a Scranton School District diploma. At this stage in the process your course assignment is complete (Student Intake Form), you and your guardian have signed the Technology Use Agreement, and you have received your computer. The last step before you begin is a “Welcome Email” from Penn Foster. You should receive this email in the next day or two. We are very excited for you, however, the same hard work and motivation are needed to be successful. If you discover along the way that the expectations regarding this program are too difficult and you need to meet with someone please contact your school counselor based on the assignments below:

Although you may gauge the pace and time in which your work is done the expectation is that you will make meaningful progress. Your progress will be monitored. If you are failing your school counselor may contact you to set up an appointment. If you are not logging on enough or you do not complete at LEAST 3% of your assignments on a weekly basis you will be contacted by the district’s truancy officer and truancy may be filed. Please refer to the district’s Student Handbook.

The Cyber Academy report card is nontraditional. Your progress will be reported based on course completion not marking periods. Your school counselor will conduct a review of your progress after every 3 completed credits and issue you a progress report. Scranton School District requires 24 credits to graduate. You will need to complete 6 credits per year during high school to be on track for graduation. Please refer to the district’s Student Handbook.
