Mocktails & Cocktails Vena's Fizz House

Learn to make a Mocktail Fizz on February 17 at 6:00 pm and/or a Cocktail Infusion on March 10 at 6:00 pm. Preregister to obtain a Zoom link. Supplies needed for the drinks will be available at Vena's Fizz House retail location in the Dana Warp Mill. $10 for the mocktail supplies and $22.50 for the cocktail supplies.

Walker Memorial Library Readings

VIRTUAL STORY TIMES 10:30 am Feb 23, March 4 & 16. Join in to sing songs, make rhymes, read a book about winter, move around and have fun. Videos will be available for two weeks after event.

Painting Demonstrations

Half-hour Facebook Live painting demonstrations with Mary Brookings at the Continuum for Creativity. February 24 at 11:00 am and March 13 at 11:00 am.

Poetry Readings

Join Anna Wrobel, Jim Donnelly and Alice Persons for some wonderful readings to get us through the cold days of Winter. March 4, 11, 18, 25 at 3:00 pm.

Online Dance Classes

Drouin Dance online classes: February 19--Beginner Hip Hop, February 26--Beginner Tap, March 5--Senior Stretch and Movement, March 12--Creative Movement, March 19-- Beginner Jazz, and March 26--Acrobatics. Each week the class will be uploaded with a Dropbox link and the description with the intended age group.

River Rescue Demonstration

Join us online for an opportunity to see how the Westbrook Fire Department trains for river rescues.

Discount Snowshoe Rental

Rent an adult pair of snowshoes for the weekend at the SPECIAL PRICE OF $6 and receive one pair of children's snowshoe rentals for FREE! Pick up your rentals at the Westbrook Community Center Reception & Information Center Fridays between 7:30 am and 7:00 pm. Return your snowshoes during the same time frame the following Monday. Offer valid the weekend of February 19-22 and February 26-March 1, pending adequate snow coverage. If there's not enough snow, this special offer may be moved to alternate weekends. Workout with Gianna!

Link to classes each Monday and select the Winterfest 2021 playlist. Beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Modifications and demonstrations for all three levels will be shown for EACH class. Workouts will be 45-60 minutes including warm-up, full body workout, cool down and abdominals with every session.

Snow Sculpture Lessons

When it snows during Winterfest, Sandra Moore and Serena Sanborn will teach us how to make snow art for our backyards and community spaces.

Outdoor K-9 team demonstration

Saturday, March 13 at 10:00 am at the Westbrook Public Safety Building. See our two K-9 teams in action. K-9 Officer Ben Hall and his partner Brook and K-9 Officer Jeremy Smith will be available to answer questions about our K-9 program and what it's like to hit the streets with their 4-legged partners.

Westbrook PD SWAT Team

Saturday, March 20 at 10:00 am at the Westbrook Public Safety Building. Meet with the Cumberland County Emergency Services Unit, aka SWAT Team. Highly trained, physically fit and dedicated to protecting our community in high risk situations. Sergeant Brian Olson and Westbrook native Officer Garrett McCarthy will host a static display of ESU equipment, followed by a question and answer session. Detective Sergeant Timothy Gardner will be on hand to discuss his important role on the team as a certified Crisis Negotiator. Every child who attends will be entered into a raffle to WIN A PRIZE.

CPR Demonstrations

Chief of Fire Department, Andrew Turcotte CPR will be hosting a live Zoom hands-only CPR demonstration. Participants will learn why adults and pediatrics go into cardiac arrest, how to recognize it, and actions that you can take to help during this type of emergency.
