CDSA ANNUAL ANESTHESIA MEETINGS CDSA Annual Anesthesia Meetings are the first week of March every year in Northern and Southern California with nationally-acclaimed academic speakers presenting topics on Oral Conscious Sedation, Moderate/IV Sedation and General Anesthesia. We added a legal topic in 2017 with Art Curley JD. Art will be joined by Mitchell Gardiner DMD in 2020 to jointly present two sessions and one breakout addressing how to prevent malpractice claims (see Program Page 4).

2020 PRESENTERS

Roberta Ashley CRNA EdD CHSE is Director and Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at Keck School of Medicine of USC; she supervises Medical and OMS Anesthesiology Residents at LAC/USC Medical CenteDr,R RICH HIRSCHINGER Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Rick Ritt MA EMT is a Paramedic. He is President, Consultant and Task Trainer for Dental Simulation Specialists. Rick developed this challenging program where he is the provider of In-Office High DR TONFY iPdOeGliRtyEL Clinical Simulation for Airway Emergency Management of the Sedated Patient and offers private office training.

Jason Brady DMD completed his undergraduate dental degree at the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine and followed with his residency in anesthesia at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He practices dental anesthesia at three offices in Arizona and also in Southern California.

Bruce Whitcher DDS was appointed to the Dental Board of California by Gov Arnold Schwarzenegger and served two terms as President. His training was at UCSF School of Dentistry and OMS residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center; he has offices in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles.

Arthur Curley JD is a senior trial attorney in his San Francisco based health care defense firm where he is president and managing partner. He received his JD from UC Hastings College of the Law. He is Assistant Professor of Dental Jurisprudence at the Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.

DR HOOMAN ZARRINKELK

Mitchell Gardiner DMD has a general dentistry practice in New Jersey. He has been an expert witness for over 25 years in dental malpractice lawsuits with successful defense involving the entire dental team, not just the doctor. He is a clinical professor in restorative dentistry at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.

Alan Kaye DDS is Immediate Past President of CDSA, the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons; the Dental Board of California and the Los Angeles Dental Society; he continues to work with the DBC on enforcement; he has a private practice in Beverly Hills.

Robert Merin DDS MS received his dental degree from UCLA School of Dentistry and MS in Periodontics from Loma Linda University; he is Past President of the California Society of Periodontists; has a private practice in Woodland Hills; is on the CDSA Board of Directors and is Program Co-Chair.

DR STEVE YUN

Steve Yun MD received his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of USC and anesthesiology residency at UCLA Medical Center.
